alright guys, heres whats great about AZ:

the people!

yep for all you "i've been on this board since dinosaurs roamed the earth and its not as good as it used to be" guys i just want to say that this forum rocks right here and right now.

saw a pretty carolina cue for sale. seller (at large) states theres a small wobble but doesnt effect playability. he couldnt move the cue tho it was offered for a great price. i pm'ed him some questions. he noted from my location that we practically share back yards. yep how cool is that, fellow AZ'er right around the corner. we met up at a local poolhall. the cue is fine. the wobble (so hardly noticable that most sellers wouldnt have said anything) looks like a little bump in the leather wrap. we got a deal done. turns out i saw him play in a local tourney. he was gentleman to deal with, plenty of knowledge and game. i picked up a couple of nuggets just buying a cue from the guy

yep thats what i love about this forum.

That's cool man! I have met lots of people from here that I would have otherwise never met. All the people I have met in person have been very nice and a joy to be around.

Soon......Lately I have only been able to play Monday nights at Kolby's and then on the weekends at my gf's house. We'll hook it up soon and play some 14.1.

I travel all the time and I take my cue with me. AZ allows me to hook up with other players when I'm in their towns.

I have met a lot of great people all over the world. AZ'ers have shown me places to play I never would have found on my own.

I agree wholeheartedly... AZ has some awesome people. Collectively, there are so many different and insightful opinions and outlooks. You could not ask for a better assortment of quality minds gathering to talk about something they love! Thank you for starting a "what's great about AZ" thread instead of all the negatives ones that have been around lately. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are.

I have met a couple of real good buddies from AZB. I am taking a road trip with two of them to the Open this year and if not for AZ I may never have spoken to either of them except maybe in passing.

That is the best thing about AZ is that you can talk to people from other states or areas and feel like you know them before you get to meet them.....shortens the learning curve dramatically.

I know AZ sometimes gets a bad rap from the top players because of the drama and the arguments but I enjoy it here because it lets me keep in touch. I don't frequent the tournaments as much or play as much anymore and I can still keep up with my buds on the tourney scene here and get the latest gossip too.

Tap Tap (never thought I would type that..LOL) for AZ.

I agree, while at times threads just seem to turn into pissing matches (especially in the NPR, but sometimes of the main forum too) you can almost always count on having someone knowing something you don't. Also how cool is it that you can talk to pros on here!

Well said. AZB is a community of very special people with whom it is a treat and a privilege to interact.
