What's it worth? Meucci's Star of David

I have a Star of David by Meucci and I hardly play with it. I would like to sell it, but don't know a decent price for it.
I bought it a couple of years ago because I really like the elder Meucci designs but now it is just collecting dust. At the time I brought it to a cuemaker to fresh the cue up. The colors came out better and beside the orginal Meucci shaft I also put a partial 314 with combining ring on it.

I have looked on the internet for the Star of David but came out with not too much. Before I put the cue on sale I would like to know a resonable price for this cue.

Thanks for helping me out here a bit!

Here is a website that may help.

Thanks!!! There are some great cues on that site!!!

The price for the Star of David is a bit high I think on the site, at what price would you guys rate this cue?

there doesn't seem to be a lot of meucci fans on this site. production cues, with the exception of schons, are really hard to move here. i'd bet you'd practically have to give the thing away and you probably wouldn't get what you want for the cue.

Not to sound too picky but this is not a "star of david"...

This is...

its called "the star of david" because it is one of the cues that were made in the line for Pro David Howard...

i wouldnt say that there arent alot of meucci fans on this site... i think that statement is false.. i would say there arent alot of newer meucci cue fans on this site.. there are still alot of ppl here who collect the originals..

in my opinion bob meucci should never have changed the way he made cues.. the originals were all something to behold.. nice figured wood.. the best hit.. the best shafts.. and once he changed.. it went downhill..

best of luck with the sale of your cue

yeah chris i guess that statement was wrong. there are people here that like meucci's, even a few that like the new meuccis. i guess my point is that the fact that it's a newer meucci is going to make it hard to sell.

I do believe this is definitely not the oldest cue by Meucci but still not the production cues of nowadays.
What I read on the site was that in the 80's en 90's Meucci let some topplayers design cues, at least put their names on it. I believe the same is done with the cueline of David Howard.

I have to agree with you Chris, I don't like the newer production cues, the design isn't all that and I don't like the way they play.
I still play with an old Meucci cue, but my Star of David I rather want to sell to someone who plays with it or at least truly enjoys it as a collector's item. It is too fine a cue to put in a dark and dusty corner.

This is a great post Chris. I owned a "Star of David" Meucci years ago and I thought the cue played great. There have been a number of pro players who played with Meucci cues exclusively namely, Jim Rempe, Tony Ellin, Howard Vickery, David Howard, and Earl Strickland in his early career before he was sponsored by Cuetec to name a few and they all played pretty good.

That is a gorgeous david howard, 7 or 8 months ago 700-800 would have been the number think more in the 350-450 range today maybe a tad higher if the right guy jumps on it! Definately one of meuccis best cues from the day, alot of intricate work in that one! good luck with the sale!

I used to be a Meucci collector, and I have had several Star of Davids, as well as the remake in reverse colors, the 95-23, I think. I sold most of them between $600-800 a few years back. The market is not as good now, but I think it would do over $500 on Ebay.

The old Meucci cues were very good players.

this cue, in this condition would most likely bring 400 or so from the right buyer. Like the guys said, 2 years back it would have brought more, but the market sucks.

I REALLY REALLY DOUBT IT'S IVORY......

I'M ALSO CONFUSED BY YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE BUTT. YOU'LL MOST LIKELY NEED TO POST PICS.
