Hi,
i just gave my custom break cue to a friend of mine as present and now looking for one.

What would you recommend me to get?

I love jump/break cue but on the other side have seen pro players using those short jump cues.

Should I buy 2 cues?

Some help will be appreciate

Vass
I would have to vote for (Varney cues) or (Jw Petree):D

I have a Petree J/B that breaks like a canon and jumps like a frog. Talk to Petreecues on AZB and he can hook you up.

Edit: I just read the other posts and other people are on the Petree bandwagon too.

Edit #2: Richard, you just made up for the ebay fiasco that we have discussed before. Thanks!

VARNEY....You have to hit with it to believe it...My father, my brother, and myself get into arguments when we play at my dad's house because I wont let them break with my varney when we are playing for braging rights. They say its unfair i get to break with it and they cant!

Now if that aint the best damn advertisment story for a VARNEY..I dont know what is...ha ha ha ha

You made an excellent choice. As it has been stated, his cues look super and they hit the same. You will be VERY satisfied with a Petree.

Scott,

I think JW Petree is one of the most underrated cue makers. I am just telling it the way I see it.

Have a great holidays!

Happy cue collecting:) ,

It is difficult for me to give an unbiased opinion on JW Petree cues because I often work with him in moving a few of them. However, the reason that I was interested in moving them was the incredible quality, great look, top notch workmanship and super hit/playability. Seriously, here is a TYPICAL jump break from Petree, 5 long, razor sharp points, super nice ring work, very well executed leather wrap, and 20 inlays in the butt....and it hits great, too.

now we heared there are a few cue makers here on AZ and some dealers that sell for others, break cues that is, I 'm looking for a break jump myself but I don't want to go into 5 cue sales to get satisfied with one cue only, if these dealers and cue makers would just pass around one for everyone to test there product I would be satisfied with that as an answer , we all know you could test hit predators at any dealer locations, so why not pass around a jump break-cue! we also know they give there products to the the pros as advertisement also, but to me that means NOTHING to me unless I could try it to see if I would like it.

I agree with justabrake. I owned a McDermott J/B cue. Currently I have a J&J J/B and a Sledgehammer type 1 made by Mike. I like the control I get with the cueball better with the Sledgehammer, the J&J breaks good also with less cueball control. No way will I consider buying a J/B cue for over $300 without being able to test hit with it first.

if you guys want to test a break cue before making a decision.. i suggest you go to valley forge! :)

That my new Jump/break

The pictures in Bamacues post are of the Jump/break I just bought. After reading all the post about JW Petree cues here I can not wait to get that thing and start breaking with it!!!

I will also pass it around my poolroom just so I can get some feedback and then I will post here for everybody to read.

Waiting anxiously for my cue

Try a Jensen Break cue with a Liptis Shaft if you get a chance. Breaks and jumps like a beast! Goes for about $500 US new with an Ostrich leather wrap. Click on my sig below to see pics. Happy holidays!
