What's your shot??

Hit a little bit on the right side of the six. The six caroms of the 8, hits the cushion, and kisses off of the cue ball into the upper right corner. The kiss off the 6 gives position on the seven.

You drew the cue ball back into the seven. Neil, if you got out from here, you play TOO GOOD!!!
 
How about banking the 6 into the lower right corner? If the carom is too full or your bank angle is off, you have the opportunity of potting the 7 via combo.
 
I would think you would have to double kiss the 6,actually I can see about 3 ways it could happen,but none being consistent

Neil, do you play call-your-shot against the ghost? Some people do, some don't. I am going to assume that at you level of play that you were. In that case you made a heckuva shot. I'm going to have to agree with muddawg on the kiss shot.

Maniac (P.S., I would have butchered this shot up no matter which one I tried :embarrassed2:)

The cb then caromed into the 7, almost making it, but left me a tough backcut on it. I made it, and the 8 was in the open. When I made the 7, I almost made the 9, it hung up in the pocket, so I didn't have to worry about shape on it when shooting the 8.

One of those rare racks that you wish you were playing for money at the time. But, if it was a money game, I probably would have hung up the 6 and the 7 for my opponent.:rolleyes:

Goes to show though, never give up on a rack. There usually is SOMETHING you can at least try. This one, was a matter of carefully visualizing just where the 6 would come off the rail, and then judging on getting the cb to the right spot for the carom.

And, Jay, that is also a good way to get out, one I sadly overlooked. I usually see those, but for some reason, this time I didn't.:frown:

I never play the ghost, due to the absence of defensive options. So, my mindset would never consider such an aggressive move.

Looks like a baby tap on the left side of the 6 would leave you safe behind the 8.

This is exactly why I use the new ACME head massager. It's looks like a terminator hand but rubs your head in a way where nothing can distract you. I recommend it to all my friends.
 
Nice shot!

There might be a problem with the draw shot to the 7, and that is the kiss-out as the 6 ball comes around two cushions. You may need good soft draw to get the cue ball moving first or hard slow draw to let the 6 pass first.

Neil....you're making me take a hard look at myself.
I've made some 'white flags' over the years for some serious cash.

But my first look at this shot is to play the snooker behind the 8-ball.
..maybe i'm turning into a wimp...

...nah,i just tend to play this game fiercely....
..i'd put my grandmother on 3 fouls...

..unless it was for a smalll bet...
I wouldn't want to be known as a $2 hooker
 
GOTTA learn against the ghost...think of it as ring game pool, if ghosts make you nervous!

I was gonna guess Neil caromed/kicked the 6 into the lower side, looks dead-ish and CB would travel toward 7 too...that double kick will get you busted in the long run, IMO.

Neil, when you do these I always look at the shot before reading any replies, so I can come to my own (1st ;)) conclusion.

I got this one right (finally!). I think it's better odds than drawing the CB into the 7. Nice out!

Is this double kiss shot called a nurse shot?
