Would everyone agree that tightening pockets slows down the game?

Ever run/owned a poolroom? Kinda doubt it because if you did you'd know that tight pockets are BAD for your wallet. Yeah they're fine for the higher speed players but for recreational play they SUCK. When people go out to play pool they want to see balls go in, not just rattle. Having one or two tight pocket tables is one thing but the majority should be bigger. BTW, 4.5" aren't buckets. That's the standard tournament-size of almost every major tournament/event.
I feel that we should be making pockets smaller.
We need to make it harder to play Pool, not easier!
This will bring in more new players.
People will watch more Tournaments because they know the pockets are harder to play.
4-12" is a Bucket IMHO.
On her website, Allison Fisher is trying to sell her Chinese 8-ball table set up at her home, which is her only home practice table. I'm assuming that to mean she put it in there with the hope that the extremely tight pockets would help improve her already very high level of shotmaking accuracy. This post will take into account that most games today are either 9 or 10 ball. While the video shows chineese 8 ball, that is not my main issue.
This shows the Chineese 8 ball pocket:

I'm going to compare now to rifle shooting. Let's say that a given rifle barrel has a spread of about 2.5 inches and you make the target 1.5 inches. No points, only hit or miss is recorded. Lets say you shoot only 3 shots. Now you must be phenomenally skilled to hit the target 3 times, only the worthyest winners will do so, right? Wrong! While you may be skilled, the target is so small as to not differentiate between shooters as much as depend heavily on luck. You may be dead on target, yet miss one or more shots. So equally skilled shooters may have wildly different results.
Chineese 8 ball is pushing the boundary of what is in fact the "barrel spread" of human players, when you consider all shots are supposed to be possible to make. Remember also that in 8 ball you can choose your shots, so as to bypass the problems. Pyramid has smaller pockets, but some shots cant be made, so it doesnt' count. For games other than 8 ball, the Chineese 8 ball table has passed that boundary to a certain extent. You could easily set up a 10 ball rack that would require multiple attempts (even without clusters) for the very best players in the world. Is this what you want pool to be? Runouts coming once every blue moon?
I sincerely hope that we never get to the point where this table becomes the standard pool table. This is coming from a snooker player btw.

A table like this is certainly well beyond the extreme in terms of pocket tightness, in my opinion, which I'm guessing is why she is selling it.

The fact is esports is going to take over the kids that are not of the extremely gifted in the real sports and the money for that now being invested in esports dwarfs anything else other than the big sports but that gap is closing real fast also , pool simply is not part of the big investors game and it will never be , being a pro gamer now makes several times a pool player that gap is increasing every day also that info is not hard to find on the netYou want kids in this sport??? Show them how they can make a living....a GOOD living as a PRO.....first!!! They ALL know if they're good enough to play PRO at Golf, Football, Basketball, Boxing, hell....just about ANY sport that the Pro level pays money to....they can make a living! This sport can't even support itself with the so called Pro's we ALREADY acknowledge.....do we really need more Pro's at the top that can't pay an electric bill without the support of a wife or girlfriend with a job!!
As long as pros get to play on tables that accept shots like this...

...then I'm going to call BS on tight pockets for average joes like you and me.

When gambling passes that will change the earnings a bit but it won't change the gap that will increase as everyday goes it's simply not entertaining enough to compete
