Where are all these strange thoughts coming from?

I've always said there should be a Beginner's section or forum.

That way the less experienced members can feel free to ask away. The self proclaimed "experts" can then take it upon themselves to choose to contribute by helping a new guy out, or just pass over the thread and go about their mind numbing daily forum activities elsewhere.

Nothing is gained by ragging on a person looking for some help. It makes the starter of the thread feel stupid, embarrassed, and unwelcome, and it makes the " Read this; I'm hilarious" respondents, and the forum as a whole, look pretty bad.

What is the best Q-claw to use?

Can someone identify this Cuetec?

Warranty Info on Master Chalk?

Thread of the Day right here!

It gives people a superior feeling to call questions dumb.

Mac, while I agree there are knowledgeable egomaniacs everywhere that love to call others "dumb", I somehow don't think you comparing your "beginner" information gathering visit to the auto parts store to a thread asking if a shaft really needs to be straight as anything close to similar. You're not capable of knowing how to paint a truck if you haven't done it before. Any sensible person will go about learning the best way to go about it before running outside with a case of Rust-Oleum and a couple rolls of painter's tape.

I'm all for helping less-knowledgeable folks out. Sometimes I just can't help being a smartass though. :)

Just on the main page, there is a thread asking about:

If a cue needs to be straight
Impossible miscues with a 14.3mm tip
Can I strip the clear coat off a cue
And someone needs 50 cents

Are you sure the main forum hasn't become the NPR section already?

Just more bastardization of a once great game.
Place is overrun by nits, just like the few pool hall that stay open.
Enjoy the ride to the bottom sir, we will be there soon enough.

Well I thought the main forum was the beginner's section.

What's the best cue....
What's the best chalk....
Who's the best besides SVB...
My APA League is better than your TAP League...
My TAP League is better than APA League....
Why do pool shooters wear gloves in the summer time....
Earl uses an extension and that's why I use one....
Why I play better for a dollar and play bad for one hundred dollars....
Which cue off the wall is better....
Always look for the burn mark on the cue off the wall....
Are there any female professional players born in the USA....
Darren can not beat me with a Walmart cue....

I think you have to pronounce the C with the H.

Kind of like this. ScaHone.

If you have more than one ScaHone cue, you can say that you have some ScaHones.

Yes, especially boring lately since Rhea started posting to a blog instead of the forum.

I would have to agree... I have started a couple of threads, just hoping that it might generate some interesting banter...

sigh

Hopefully, something will "spark out interest again"

Like $80 chalk, must be better than the $30 chalk right?

There's $80 chalk now? Where can I get some?

If you have the right technology you don't need technique. :D:D:D

Any American who finds the right cue will be conscripted by the government to run the F-35 program.

You can't force belief. Only pretence of belief.

I have yet to see a single dumb, useless, boring, worthless, uninteresting thread on the whole of AZBilliards . . .

just dumb, useless, boring, worthless, uninteresting members who read them.

So the new "John Barton is talking about Dave Wilson on Facebook" thread isn't dumb?
