Where did the "Fundamentals of Pool" thread go?

The problem was referring to the bca instructers. If that had not been mentioned,I'm betting it still would be here.

Kinda makes me wonder now who did the most complaining about pocket point.

You can't challenge the members of the "good ole boys club."

The kid is an idiot, he's been put on notice and he still insults everybody at random. Soon he'll be gone alltogether and I will say good riddance.

Just a little punk with no respect.

Ended With

If you guys ever bothered to learn what the BCA teaches about fund., you would know that they had nothing to do with it getting yanked.

I ended my post with "Only if they were Involved" Guess AZ will have to answer...which they won't...Fred Astair 2 step will be the answer!

I saved the Ray Martin post. I posted the last sentence of it on my Facebook page this morning. I'm glad I did.

I would like to have read this fundamentals thread. Could it be returned please.

Thanks Dana in Indy

I vote to make me a backup mod with the power to lock threads, as well as revive old deleted threads that are floating in the vault area. Oh, and banning power or even double secret probation suspension powers would be nice too .

And with it, contributions from a former world champ and a legend of the game no less.

Here's the comment made by Ray Martin:

While everyone seems to like postings that suggest that one doesn't need good fundamentals, I think Fran Crimi's post below is the one that we all should be paying attention to:
Sure, anybody can learn to play with bad form with repetition. They can also learn to deal with body aches resulting from shooting with their little 'quirks,' and fatigue from standing for so many hours off-balance in a tournament. Sure, anyone can teach themselves to play well like that.

But why? Is torture and fatigue the smarter way to go than efficiency and balance?

Anyone ever take golf or tennis lessons? Ever listen to the commentary during a golf or tennis tournament? It's all about form. Not only does good form maximize your performance level, but your body will thank you for it in later years.

Spimp13, you have been on double secret probation on AZ since the beginning of the semester!!!

Damn... that is a looooong time to sit in a corner on timeout. My butt was getting sore lol. Sigh...I guess my only MOD power I will be granted is the power to edit my own posts and put myself on the super ignore.

From another thread on this subject:

I said in a recent thread that deleting threads & posts is a slippery slope...once you start, you don't know where to stop. It can become vindictive & abused by popular posters. This "tool" has been the death of many boards...I've seen it several times.

Once people get tired of seeing their posts (that take time & effort to draft & submit) being deleted frivolously...they leave.

Wake up Mods...we are on that trail into the sunset.

BTW, AZB web traffic is down 14% over the last month!
Also, time spent on the site is down 66%!!
Page views are down 56%!!!
Think that's just coincidence?!?!?

Thread Originator

Where is he...getting spanked by the mod's...thank you sir may I have another...

Yup, just as you're flipping the page, a hand reaches from behind the computer screen and says "Gimme that!" <loud sound of paper scrunching as it's yanked from out of your hands>

so thats what that thump on the back of my head was!

Great another thread is gone.
Who is the evil maniac questioning that great organization I'm afraid to mention?
Did you force the all powerful to step down from the mountain top?
Shame on you all.

If a thread gets out of hand they can lock it but still keep it visible for all to see. I am not sure why this wasn't done unless maybe the OP sent a PM to the MODs to delete the thread?? There was a debate in it but I didn't think it was going too bad between both sides. I hadn't checked on it for a couple of hours so it might have gotten a little messy.

Yep. And what really galls us is the lack of explanation. What are you afraid of, mods? An uprising? Wilson, was that you? Wise up for chrissakes.

Post #27 on this thread has it.

Thank you.

More than anything, fundamentals make the game easier in all sports. Truly gifted people that are purely talented can excel on just hard work alone. But not everyone that plays on a professional level is naturally talented. A lot of them had to drop their bad habits in order to move on to the next level. Maybe the biggest difference between a shortstop and professional. A lot of people peek at B speed and cannot get to the next level, I would say most of that is due to bad habits that you either don't know about or just don't want to put in the time to fix.

My good friend recently changed a lot of his fundamentals thanks to some advice from Jason Klatt. His game went from solid B speed down to weak B speed very quickly... to Solid A speed over a couple months. Changing small things helped a lot in a fairly short time. Who knows where his game will be in another few months.
