I was just wondering where everyone likes to eat while they are in Valley Forge. Are there any great places that you always hit when your in town? I'd like to here about them

We usually hit the following:

Cheesecake Factory is always pretty good , We also usually hit that highend Steakhouse the name escapes me at the moment( Sullivan's) or something like that. We also found this little MOM & POP restaurant where the food was good but the waitress was really cool and basically made it a great place. Maggiano's is the other place we always hit usually the first night we're there. We also did the Legal seafood thing and the Crabcakes were awsome.

I look forward to the food and friends as much as I do the cues.

Food

Don't forget to make a trip into Philly and get a couple cheese steak sandwiches at Geno's or Pat's!

Thanks for the advise. This will be my first time @ SBE. I'll have to try them all but will be there the entire time. Maybe i need a couple more options?

Philly sounds like a good idea.

I'd like to do that but it's hard to get away from the booth. Maybe someone that's makin the run will hook us up...

When I went to the SBE I ate the exact same thing I do for the majority of my meals during BCA in Vegas, chicken strips from the food stand. lol. Oh, and I'd grab a free apple form the front desk every morning for breakfast.

D'Allesandro's is another bigtime philly cheesesteak joint and I believe they are closer to VF than Geno or Pats. Still in Philly though, maybe 25 minutes from VF.

Another place that is incredible is Kildares Irish across the street from King of Prussia Mall.

They have the best Bangers & Mash (sausage & potatoes) I have ever had. And so close to St Pattys they will have corned beef and cabbage along with their other delectable authentic Irish fare.

I have never seen so many steak houses in such a concentrated area as is the case there. Creeds, Ruth Cris, Mortons, Sullivans, and probably a half dozen others.

I agree with lenoxmjs on Maggianos. They also have great gormet breakfast burritos and such.

Best,
Brian kc

Can't wait for the expo. Missed it last year due to the whole Afghanistan thing but this year for sure.

I recommend Foxes and Hounds in the King of Prussia mall. They have 9 foot diamonds. If you're driving out, beware that Saturday will likely be the busiest day. You may not get a spot when you return.

Fox and Hound... Not only do they have awesome food, they also have a few Diamond 9 footers out back, and tvs everywhere. Nice little bar/restaurant. Prices aren't bad either. I recommend the beer battered fish and chips.

Hooters is decent.. Not the best one I've ever been to as far as food is concerned, but who goes to Hooter's for just the food anyway?

Last year me and my friends did Hooters for lunch on Saturday. When we came back I spent at least 20 minutes looking for a spot.

The hotel restaurant Chumleys is good, but the service is slow.

I hear that..
Tried hitting Hooters last year on Friday night, but it was packed. Went to Chumley's, but they had a line out the door and onto the sidewalk. Drove around a while to see if Hooters cleared out at all, but the line continued to grow. Found Fox and Hound by accident and was very pleasantly surprised.

Edit:
Sorry, didn't go to Chumley's.. It may have been TGI Friday's with the line out the door and onto the sidewalk.

!st - Chumley's. Inside the hotel at the expo. Great food right off the elevator.

2nd - Morton's steakhouse. Da nuts if you want a wicked steak.

3rd - cheesecake factory. Only heard good things.

Did this thread begin with 'where can you get some good food at sbe?' and it ended up at Hooters? :grin-square:  :grin-square:

Nope, nevermind, I just checked; the op simply asked where do we eat when at sbe...

Best,

I lived in that exact area for 7 years... Some of my favorite places have already been mentionned (i.e. Maggiano's for ex.) but here are some of my favorites places in the general area:

Steak:
Sushi:Jewish Deli:
Fast Food:
  • Five Guys Burgers and Fries: Map Menu
Has decent bar table(s):
  • Peppers: Good bar table. Allen hopkins comes here sometimes. Hung, director of the VF convention center, comes here basically every night. Free poker on Thursday evenings 7:30 start. Map Menu
  • Screwball's Sports Bar: Map Menu
  • Black Horse Tavern: The epicenter of the local bar pool scene. About 10 APA and BCA and TAP teams shoot out of this establishment. With 3 bar tables, one of them is always level. Great wings. Map Menu
  • Chap's Taproom: Map Menu

I haven't been to the SBE in a few years but I used to like the restaurant right next to Chumley's in the hotel...I can't think of the name though. It had higher prices than Chumley's but the food was better and the service was much better.

p.s. On Sunday mornings they have a a good breakfast buffet at Lily Langtry's, also in the hotel.
