Where to play in Las Vegas

Hi Sascha,
The best known pool room in Vegas is the Las Vegas Cue Club. Twelve of the best Gold Crowns around! Some Diamond bar boxes. About two kilometers from from the Riviera Casino on East Sahara. They may have a shuttle running back and forth from the Riviera. The Cue Club also has both a Snooker and Billiards table .
Not as well known but also a good choice is Pool Sharks. Two Diamond 4.5 x 9's. One GC V. Many other lower quality tables both large and small. They are located on Decatur near the corner of Spring Mountain. Roughly eight kilometers away.
Both of those room will have the "pro's" playing during the BCA event.
Mickey's Cues & Brews is located on South Eastern roughly ten kilometers from the Riviera. Lots of Diamond tables both large and small. Some Gold Crowns and Valley bar boxes as well. If have any personal security concerns, this is the "safest" room by far.
If you're just into bar boxes, Rum Runner on East Tropicana and Spencer has several Diamonds kept to high playing standards.
Regardless, enjoy your time in Vegas. Lots to see and do.

Ive only been to the Cue Club, pretty nice place. Everytime i was there, there was some kind of decent money game going on with a couple big dogs.

My guess is you are staying at a Hotel/Casino on Fremont Street? If so, add about four kilometers to my travel estimates. Do not consider walking to the Riv
! Take a cab every trip. Each of the pool rooms has a small pro shop. Have your cue work done by one of the shops set up at the Riv. There will be five or so of the best cue repair guys out there! Unfortunately, none of the pool rooms have a website.Lyn
If Joe Blackburn happens to be there, have him do any work on your cue(s) that you need...! And, the advice of not walking from Fremont St. to the Riv....no biggee, done it (I'm also a golfer who walks well over 100 rounds a year though). Take the double decker bus, it's a buck, just give yourself time - don't hop on it if you need to be at the Riv in 10 minutes. As for playing, there'll be PLENTY of action on site, so, really no need to leave!
I hit up Mickey's last weekend when I was in Vegas.
Maybe I'm just spoiled, but I couldn't stand the cig smoke.
I had to leave after 45 minutes and I was told that it was the least smokey of all the places.
Also, no action there, just bangers.

Good call, Lyn.
Also, there is a bus line that runs from downtown/Fremont, down Las Vegas blvd to the Strip, if the OP is on a budget. Cab fare can add up (typically about $17 one way, from Fremont to the Riv).

The bus line on the strip is called the Duece. And you can ride for $7 unlimited in a 24hr period or $3 one time ride. There are other passes you can buy for longer. We like to take it since its so cheap.

The length of the walk is not why people are warning against walking from Freemont St. to the Riv. The area between those 2 points is some of the more dangerous areas of Las Vegas. Unless you want to see a huge number of drunks, drug addicts, and bail bond businesses and take the slight chances of trouble that come with places like that I would also recommend against walking it. I have walked in that area before, I have gone to a internet "cafe" that was the upstairs of a bail bonds shop in that area, the whole area is a run down sleezy place that is better just avoided.

I have not heard yet. Is the AZBilliards going to have the upstairs pool / lounge room again this year? Last year there was 2 Diamond bar boxes up there that were not very busy during the open individual tournaments. I left before the team tournament started.
BTW, I will be there for the whole enchilada this time. And I will be upstairs practicing again, if it is there.
One of the rules for the upstairs room is pro's have priority on the tables. If someone is there for the BCA tournament practicing and a pro comes in we give up the table to the pro. If the pro would like us to practice/play with him/her that is fine. Totally up to the pro.
I will also be running down to the Cue Club to practice on the snooker table. Nothing like shooting a 12' table to make 7' shots look short.

only in the high roller suits, most of the high roller suites in the hopels have them but those rooms are real expensive, I have been in 2 of them over the years and one had a good table the other one was terrible. but no to answere your question there is no place to play at the wynn.
vegas isnt the best pool city, despite what would figure to be a good city for pool-it just isnt, never has been. The casino's are a big distraction for locals and tourists thus people end up at the pool rooms after they have been beaten down by the casino's. That isnt the recipie for a good pool room city like Phoenix or Sacramento are.

It was great having you over, please come back anytime. Funny thung I havent drove a Lambo since oct 07. So finding the keys is the trick. I am not in the mood to drive them anymore, I cant go drive around in a flashy car acting like everything is fine when it isnt, I have to have a biz up and going to enjoy things like that. I am a diciplined person and when i'm running cold I live real small, I dont drive 10 miles a week anyways.

I've been to the Las Vegas Cue Club. It was very nice.
cue club no doubt....and 24 hrs just like everything else in vegas.
