Which New Cuemaker

Hey guys which new/newer cuemaker would you recommend? I"m looking to purchase a cue but can't afford a black bore or scruggs..... you know what I'm looking for... a newer cuemaker just getting his stuff out there and is very reasonable.... thanks

You can't get a better cue or more cue for your money than right here. Mitchell Thomas Custom Cues.

PM me for details

There is a wrapless Masonh on the for sale forum right now. Right in your price range.

Edit... gh8st is the seller

Also, can't go wrong w/ a Josey fullsplice

Check out these 2 posted

Jim Lee has 2 nice cues in your price range completed and posted in the Wanted/For Sale section HERE!

I believe they are priced very well.

I currently have one Jim Lee cue, and another coming in the next few months. I like how his cues play, and would recommend him. Though I believe he currently has a waiting list of cues he is building, so these 2 would be the only possibility, over him making a cue to your design.

There is also another nice black walnut and purpleheart being sold by another AZB'r in the for sale section in your price range right here

Good luck on your search!!

Let me know if you have any questions I can help with.

I will throw a gentleman by the name of John Bender in. John is a good freind of Richard Black and although Richard did not teach him how to build cues he has given him instruction and answered questions for John. I have one of his cues number 41 and i am completely pleased with it. I also have a Searing and a Gina. The John Bender is my bar cue and I use the others in the halls.

I agree 100%, you can pay a lot more but you can't get any better than an Olney. However if you want to pick your woods from the start, it's going to tak a while to get one from Jeff.
Bryan Mordt BCM Cues will make you a great player of your own design with a relatively short wait time.

Kenny Murrell best hitting cue for the money..

" new" cuemaker

Jack Madden is my Favorite, but I would not consider him New.Jim Lee is another favorite that I would not consider new. Check out Jim Pierce, on his way up and climbing fast. He loves cuemaking and I believe that is the secret. Take a look at a few examples.

well..... I so confused on which cuemaker.... it's like... I don't want to buy a cue from a cuemaker and not like it.. I want to make sure that his cues play good..... I have everyone telling me something different.... basicall i would like either BEM, curly or cocobolo plain jane or a few points.... and if I wanted to sell it later down the road when i buy a high end cue I would like to be able to sell it.... so this said what doyou guys think... thanks alot:wink:

Its down right insulting that no one mentioned BOB FRY!!!

He can make anything from Sneakies, Stainless Steel jointed, Southwest style. You name it!!!!

Plus, worked side by side with Scruggs!!!!

You want a Scruggs type cue then give the MAN a call. You can't go wrong and his prices are right!

Only, thing is you need to know what you want and get out his way. Be specific but not too specific. He will make you a great cue and I assure you it will hold its value.

Your reading comprehension is whats insulting. Go back and read the title, the OP asked for a new cuemaker. Bob Frey makes good cues because he has the skill and the experience... he is not new. Oh and check your spelling before you scream his name out lol.

S & K Custom Cues !!

Although I haven't seen any cues for sale by Sung Kang from S & K Custom Cues, I do believe my next purchase will be from him if he allows me to be a customer.

I like his philosophy on the Classics and I think he's going to be the man to make a great cue.

So far what he's shown is looking real good !!!

I know he's going to be a perfectionist

you could get a pj zinzola....they hit great....or a kenny murrell is a great choice also has a very good hit...but hit is subjective and i like a cue that hits stiff with little deflection....realizim said murrell and that would be a great choice if you can find one in that price range.....also look up joe callucaco.....sorry for the spelling but his cues look great and i am sure they play well....if i had a bs and played with a joe callucaco cue that says alot about how well his cue play...badabing....all are members here and great guys to deal with...but the best thing to do is play with a bunch of diffrent custom cues and find what you like....gl on your search...mickey carroll

Hey, the couple of new cue makers I would recommend is:

1) Eric Crisp of SugarTree
2) MasonH
3) Gracio Cue

these are very good suggestions, BUT

Hey, the couple of new cue makers I would recommend is:

The OP has only $600 to spend, so I believe all 3 of these great new guys might be a little out of his range. But you never know.

If anybody has one of these guys' cues for $600 - PLEASE PM ME!!!!

Murrell is hard to beat. Good price, nice quality, and fairly short tournaround time. He will build you exactly what you want.
