sorry if this is one of those, "what's the point?" threads. my friend and i have been comparing our playing tendencies to pros who have distinct playing styles. just thought i'd get some additional info.

btw, i liken myself to Feijen. with the rigid mechanical bridge hand, the pause at the end of the stroke and the solid pre-shot routine. i'd like to play like busta or corey, but i am what i am i guess...

which one best describes you?

Francisco Bustamante? loose grip? constantly playing for multiple rail position? fast and loose but powerful break?

Efren Reyes? quiet? smooth and accurate? usually makes the the correct decisions?

Earl Strickland? fast player with a harsh break with an attitude to fit the bill?

Allison Fisher? shoulders square? chin to cue? solid snooker textbook play?

keith mccready? you confuse people with your unorthodox stroke and mechanics, but for some reason, it works and you're a decent player.

i could go on, but there are probably a dozen more players out there who i could watch a CGI model mimic and i'd be able to identify them in a second. and i don't want to drag out this thread any longer.

Maybe Hopkins,im not pleasant to watch,i have a short stroke(if you want to call it a stroke) and horrible mechanics.

I really liked the style of Gomez 'Superman' in the WPC...Something I would like to work into my style of play. I think the match I watched was Gomez vs. Neils.

B.

I liken myself to Barney Rubble. Ever see the episode where he and Fred get transported to the "Jetsen's" timeframe and hustle Mr. Spacely at pool? Barney is a jam-up southpaw.

Who am I like

lol - Well, I look the table over like Earl, and probably shoot like Mika, except a little looser unless it is for big money, then closer to how Mika shoots.

When I'm on my game I play fast and with a fluid stroke, with a mediocre break, where if I speed it up some off the rail, I scratch 30% of the time, but when I don't scratch on the break I drop 1or 2.

Unfortunately, I can get emotional if things don't go my way and I start to play "wild" position, meaning if I can see the ball then I can make the shot. When this is working it looks really great because banking is definitely apart of my toolbox and I make a good portion of my bank shots. But when this portion of my game stops working then stick a fork in me.

So with a few scratches or bad position plays, I go from calm and patient with a smooth shot, to an all out gunslinger.

I don't know what player that style resembles but I definitely don't intend to stay that way. I figure the more tournaments I play, the better at controlling my emotions I'll be. Cus that freakout I do doesn't happen in league or practice.

I think I'm just overly competitive...

I dunno

I have asked this question of several people before without an answer. I have no clue of any famous good players style that mine most resembles. Must mean anybody that plays like me sucks or was under the radar ;-)

Anybody who has seen me play got any ideas?

Rodney did pretty good in Caddyshack with all the gizmos! :D

Ty didn't think so, and told him : "You're not ..... you're not good, Al. You stink. " Of course this from a golfer who measures himself against other golfers by height
