Joe Whitten has produced several superb cases to match some of my favorite collectable cues. His father Dan started their family business more than 20 years ago. In this time, they have refined the product to the highest levels of beauty and performance. I couldn't be more pleased with the product and service I experience from Whitten Cases.

Features that add value for me:

Spring loaded shaft tubes
Unique spacer system so all components fit perfectly
Long tubes to accommodate fancy joint protectors
Vast selection of leathers; colors and prints
Moisture protection (hydrometer tested)
Compact clean appearance that holds its shape
Many carry options offered; buyer chooses what he/she wants
Many butt/shaft configurations; again buyer choses what is needed
Serious custom services for 1 of a kind cases
Made in America by a family business

I have a Whitten for my Richard Black also. I love the leather they use it so soft and smooth. Whittens are in a class all their own no doubt about it.:yeah:

Great thread, I agree.

I have 4 Whitten cases and have reluctantly given away 2 in cue trades.
Just got a 3 x 4 yesterday and it is even more elegant than I thought it would be.
My first thought when I saw it was to put some nice cues it in and use it for storage, but what the heck, I'm going to use it for the intended purpose.
It is really a nice case though.
Now I'm going to have to deal with offers all the time.

I have owned a 3x6 and currently own a 2x4 Whitten case. They are solid and well built. The design is sleek and stylish; but at the same time, no nonsense. I would like some feedback on the "lite" versions as I am considering getting a Whitten in a "lite" version.

Joe always has them at Valley Forge if you want to check one out directly. The tube remains rigid and it holds its shape. The case is much lighter.

I believe the lites are more popular than traditional style cases. For me, I feel better with the extra weight. I never really minded carrying my cues.

People are seldom unhappy when they buy the best as you have!!!!!!!!!!

I don't mind the weight either. I was planning to get another Whitten so I figured I might give the "lite" a try.
Valley Forge could not get here any sooner. I am saving all my nuts to splurge a bit there.

The Whitten family is always there at Valley Forge. You get to meet the actual people that design and build the cases. Not a salesman or distributor but the company founder and his son.

Also, Joe will make small repairs, often for free, to customer's cases. (One year he replaced a zipper tab for me). He also helps adjust the shaft tubes so your cue fits perfectly.

Whitten cases come with adjustable spacers so you can make shafts ride high enough in the tube to be level with the butt and easily accessible. Surely we have all seen people turning their cases upside down to extract a shaft. This is unnecessary with the Whitten spacer system. Almost any shaft length can be accommodated.

these are one of the best cases out there, in my opinion you get what you pay for with cases, dont scrimp!

I'm sure members would love to see some of your custom Whittens. I know your cases inspired the designs for the best of my collection.

I realize this is not a gallery thread, but you raised the bar with some of the inlay themes you designed. A pic or two would help show just what the Whittens can do with some turquoise, leather, and a tube!

We like the case forum!! Thanks to the site owner/administrators MikeH, Mr. Wilson, JerryF.

I just got a Whitten Lite 3x6 case. It is the first Whitten I've own, so I can't really compare it to ones that aren't the Lite version, but it's great. It's also the most beautiful case I have ever seen!!!

Here's the quick story:

I bought a new 2x4 case out of the "In-Stock" section from Whitten Cases. It looked like a black and white case (E Pearl Gator/E Black Gator), but when it arrived a few days later and I pulled it out of the box, the E Pearl was more of a very light brown/egg shell color.

I emailed Joe and told him that the case I got was not *exactly* the color I wanted, as I thought the E Pearl Gator was going to be white. I asked him what I could do (send it back/exchange), and he said, "Just send it back, and I'll make you what you want." He suggested the Smooth White, since that was VERY white, and also would give a nice contrast in texture with the Black Gator.

I shipped the case back to him, and he called when he got it. I asked him about how long it would take to have my new case (thinking months), and he surprised me again with his answer of, "Well since you didn't like the case you got, I'll work this order in as quick as I can. I will have to get some more Black Gator though, so it might be upwards of 3-4 weeks." That was STILL quicker than I thought, and appreciated his customer service.

Less than 4 weeks later, I had the new case (shipped on HIS DIME), and it is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but I can tell you that ANYONE thinking of getting a Whitten case will not only get possibly the best case on the market today, but the customer service of a business that cares about the customer.

Thanks again Joe, you are the best!!!

Mike...

And now for the case!!!

Mike,

Great looking case! And I know how superb the cue protection is too. Whitten Cases are wonderful, full of class and elegance. Flawlessly executed. But most importantly, they offer great protection for both carriage and storage.

Thanks for sharing!
