Who are some of your most favorite AZ posters and why ???

I don't have favorites, but I definitely have those I dread. They include people who:

-Reply to anything with 'lol' or the like and nothing else--this is not adding to the conversation and it makes you look like a fourteen-year-old girl.

-People who don't try to use proper grammar and spelling. I don't mind when someone has a lot of errors as long as they are trying. We get so many people who claim to have educations posting unintelligible garbage that it is ridiculous.

Isn't replying with just an LOL impossible. I thought you had to post at least a 10 character post.

To your other point I'm trying I really am. I never won any awards for my spelling and grammar but I have this great little tool I use on message boards to help me with grammar and punctuation. It's a chrome extension called "After the Deadline"

Gotta give a shoutout to Black Balled, Mosconiac, cmbwsu, Mr. Wilson, and Blue Hog Rider (and myself :D ) probably a couple of others, purely from the funny/gift thread for constant posts and laughs I have gotten there.

This sums up my thoughts very well.

I like Black-Balled. You never know what he is going to say next.

Actually, 80% of the time I don't know what he's saying in his posts!! One of my favs nonetheless.

JAM, Jay Helfert, JBarton, JCIN, JoeyInCali, JoeT <-----hmmm I wonder if I can find any more good posters that start with "J"??

Darn! Found a few who don't start with "J"!!

OK but seriously, people who reply "first" in a thread, as if anyone cared

I don't have favorites, but I definitely have those I dread. They include people who:

-Hijack threads to say 'hi' to someone or ask if their friend is around and post photos nobody cares about--us a PM or start a new thread.

-People who feel like they need to out Mr. Stroud every couple of weeks.

The rest of you are great, thanks for making this a fun forum.

don't forgot people who very seldom have anything nice to say.

according to the last few pages of posts I glanced on your "see all posts" page, approx 88% of your contributions are negative, whiny, holier-than-thou tirades and/or admonishments (similar to the one above).

12% of the time you are also one of my favorites.

have a nice day. :)

best,

Sometimes I will see the person's name as the last person to post to a thread, and no matter what the topic of the thread is, I click it to see what this person has to say. :grin-square:

This logic, however, works both ways. When I read a train wreck or flame thread, there are times, I must admit, that I click on that thread, no matter who's posting in it, to find out what twists and turns the thread is taking. The alleged "Samoan accompanying Scott Frost to a pool room" thread comes to mind.

There are certain members, though, I consume every single word they write, because I know beforehand it's going to be a good read, even if I don't agree with them. :)

Any post written by Jerry Forsyth, AzHousePro, or Mr. Wilson, I automatically click it to find out what's going on. :angel2:

i've placed wagers with myself with regards as to whose head rolled

Would be also a long list if i would start- but i don t want to forget someone :-)

I start with a J....

Hey don't forget Jaden starts with a J. Although I haven't posted anything very notable recently... lol

Mantis99, a guy who can debate a topic like an adult. I bumped into him in a pool hall and found him to be a great person as well.
ChicagoRJ from Madiganistan cracks me up.
Tucson9ball -a great guy and one hell of a player. Many others but these three stand out to me.

Well thanks Bud. I never thought I would get a vote.

For me, I would have to say most AZers. I can remember having a go with one or two guys but we made our apologies thru PMs and it was pretty much my fault a couple of times so all is good.

I enjoy reading everyone's posts and there are more than a few that can crack a good pun along with the rest of them and put a smile on my face.

Its all good at the end of the day. If I didn't like it here, I wouldn't have hung around for so long. Now that I have a phone that can connect with the interwebs, I am never too far away from AZ.

I always liked PJ's comments

I always liked PJ's comments, he just seemed to be misunderstood sometimes.

You're right.

It's ironic though ...I mean that he wrote with such clarity and yet was so often misunderstood.

PJ's problem was that he wasn't wrong (he's actually pretty knowledgeable), just not 100% right and refused to debate. He would attack a strawman (something out of context a little or not what was meant by the poster) and hang on like a pitbull. Then he'd get mad...which just isn't fun for anyone and doesn't advance the discussion. I always made a point to read everything he wrote, though!

That is the benchmark for a quality poster - whether you like them or not.

there's three targets that must align

He had some interesting patterns of thought and communication...his shortcoming was not spending enough time at the pool table. Some things that "look good on paper" won't stand up under real pressure in a real situation. He couldn't get past the fact that aiming at the center of the pocket was not as good as aiming at one side or the other. And it is a complex subject, we never really got into the "meat" of the matter.

The one thing that he didn't "real eyes" is "aiming" at the center isn't done logically. It's done by connecting several factors like speed, relative starting angle, cue ball targeting, and the fact that there's three targets that must align.

The Cue Ball is the primary target, the object ball is the secondary target and the pocket reflect the connection between the two to form the ultimate target. This is something that must be connected, not by our eyes, for we can't see all three at once, but by our feel which is accessed in our unconscious, and is very complex.

This is why a Pro will say they have a great "feel for the pocket", instead of a great "sight for the pocket". 'The Game is the Teacher'
