Who else qualified for the 2009 US Amateur in Florida???

We had 4 men (out of 45) and 1 women (out of just 5) qualify in West Palm Beach on Sat Sept 19th.
The men were:
Dave Uwate (congrats! Damn you play good!)
Zeno Rawley (you old fart...got lucky! LOL)
Danny Sheldon
Jerry Sotelo (I will get you next year!)

I lost to Jerry 7-5 in the semi-finals of my bracket. Played awful all day. Miracle I made it as far as I did. Jerry played real smooth and deserved the win. Jerry played Martin Martuscelli in the finals (beat me earlier 7-3? I think). I would have loved to have that rematch Martin! Maybe next year!

On the ladies side- Amy Poulter beat Mimi McAndrews in the finals. Cheryl Perez had a good chance but lost close matches to both Amy and Mimi (I think).

Hahaha I wish I could come out to AZ. It's been a while. I was going to come out and play in the DCT finalle but now that I qualified for this that would be two weeks in a row for me on the road. My game doesn't last 20 minutes on the road let alone two weeks. Haha I'll probably be out the some time around Thanksgiving or Christmas and you got my first game forsure.

That's amazing, isn't customer service wonderful these days? Glad they found all of your equipment though which is a feat in itself, congratulations on winning your spot to play I hope you do well!!
 
Blew off the Columbus qualifier...

Because what used to be a Sat-Sun tourney became a Fri-Sat-Sun tourney this year but the paperwork said everyone had to register and be at the players meeting on Friday evening but NOT everyone would play a Friday night match. That meant drive 31/2 hours, burn an extra day of vacation and spend the money for an extra nights hotel and maybe not even have a match Fri night...no thanks. I've qualified and been to the final in Atlanta 3 of the last 4 years tying for 13th last year and have really enjoyed the tournament as a whole!
