Who else qualified for the 2009 US Amateur in Florida???

Checking in from Northern California. The three that qualified at Shoreline Billiards are me (Eric Harada), Elmer Diwa and Mary Rakin (younger sister of Michelle Rakin).
Watch out for Mary she has been accumulating many titles, plays extremely strong and is still quite young. I am old and wish there was a senior division at the Amateur Nationals.....hehe

I beleive it was Robert Hall and Michelle Dunn that won here in Huntsville. Great shooting to both! Had a lot of players. Cool that 2 hometowns won.

I played in Atlanta at Mr. Cues 2 and had a blast. I lost in the final match. Close but no cigar. I have a few things to work on before next year. "I'll be back".

We had 9 people qualify in Laurel, Md. Had my whole masters division team playing in the finals (from The Green Room in Dundalk, Md.). My teammates wound up on the short end but had great tournaments. I think I was the only repeat qualifier from that location, but there was some great shooting throughout the event. Hoping to improve on last year's 33rd place finish. Lee Tianni ran a great event with everything running smooth and AHEAD of schedule. Thanks again Lee!

i am from montgomery alabama and qfied in huntsville last weekend.frankincali will be good to see you in tampa.good luck everyone.

I got lucky and won the qualifier that was held at the Art of Billiards in Gainesville, fl this past weekend...phew!

My boyfriend and I qualified

This would be my first APA tournament besides league. It's so funny...but my boyfriend qualified too! So it'll be some intense watching while we're both playing! lol...

I can't wait to meet the players out there! I heard the pool room is nice too!

Just confirmed that Walter Blacker qualified and I think Bobby Hicks, we were playing the finals at Bankshots when he said he finished 2nd the day before. Do you win a spot for 2nd too?

Anyways, both players are from the Jacksonville area and I know Mr. Hicks has qualified in 2005, 2007 and other years. He is playing really well and finishing high in the weekly tournament which has a lot of talent for a $10 event.

Congratulations to you all!!

:bow-down::clapping::clapping::clapping: CONGRATS!!!!! Brock That' s awesome!!!!! Good Luck in Tampa if I don't see you by then. I also understand that is the same week as the Southwest Challenge where I will be .... looking for foosball players

Bobby Hicks lent me a sweet mottey to play with at the 2007 us amateur nationals in atlanta. Fed Ex lost my cue for 3 days. nice, i'm glad to hear he will be in Tampa in november.

He is a very nice guy and will tell you him had good things to say about him, he owns a few nice cues and I believe he currently plays with the Mottey you are speaking of. Did you ever find your cue?

Thanks bud. I'm sure I'll see you before then. I think Liza and I are going to throw a fundraiser tournament in the comming weeks to try to help with the cost of attending this event. Look out for more info.

See ya soon.

There I was thinking I was smart to ship my cues Fed ex rather than let those baggage thieves at Miami International get a chance at my cues. Then Fed ex loses my Justis/Szamboti/Xbreaker for three days and they could have cared less. When I told the guy at the counter that I had 10k insurance on the package, his response was "So? I'm not paying it". My buddy Mark was with me and me and him both just stood there with our jaws wide open at that comment.

Eventually the package was found in Tennessee and I got it back near the end of my stay in Atlanta. Just one more reason I am really glad the National event this year is in Tampa.
