Who ever recommended Triangle Tips...

They give le pros the 6 and out. When i used le pros i had to throw away hald. Trianle much better yeild of good tips. Try everest next. Youll forget all about the triangle too
I worked in a pool hall when I was 14 yrs old (1956). We had 3 kinds of tips, Le Pro, Elkmaster & Triangle. That's how long they have been around...JER
My first experience with them was bad, I got them on both shafts of an Andy Gilbert cue that I bought from a local. They feathered and flattened every time I played with the cue, both shafts. I later sold the cue back to the guy I bought it from, not because of the tips, financial thing.
I later had two tips put on my Dishaw that I was told were Mooris. Soon as I got the cue back I knew they were not Mooris. But, they played and held up real well. When I took my shafts to Mike Gulyassy to have them cleaned he told me that they were Triangles. I had him put a new one on one of my original shafts and I love it! Definitely my choice of tip at this time!

That's odd, I started playing seriously in 1975 and never even heard of Triangles until a few years ago.

they are the nuts, some may argue that moori and all the other layerd tips are better and this and that. But you can get a whole box of triangles around the same price that you can buy just a few of those others. I will say this, I don't care what kind of tip you got on your cue, but tips do go bad, they do dry out so they got to be changed eventually. You get good english with them, they don't miscue like lepros and they hold up pretty good too.

When it was on the way to me I asked what kind of tip was on it and they said Triangle tip. I thought the first thing I was going to do was change the
tip when I got the cue. I tried it out first and decided to keep the tip on it because it plays great. I ended up buying a partially used box of them, I hope they weren't picked through for the best ones.
I really want to own a Black Boar cue someday, and Triangle is the tip he uses on his cues. But according to his website he only uses about 4 or 5 tips out of 50 on his cues. There a few other famous cue makers who like to put Triangle tips on their cues, I just can't remember who right now.

I remember the triangle tips from way back also, but I recalled them being light tan color and very hard. These reminded me of the consistency of brake pad lining and darker. LOL. A whole different tip from the triangles I remember. Much easier to draw and also much more precise stunning the CB along the tangent line. Very nice.
Brake pad lining..... hmmm.... when I get my lathe in, I might make me a break tip out of one. Or would that make it a brake tip?
I used to play with Triangles religiously. Now I'm using Moori M. No reason really other than when I got my JMW cue it had Triangles on it, my request, but I hated the hit it was getting. I tossed a Moori on, hoping it was the tip and not the cue overall, and voila, it felt a lot better to me with the Moori. I'd still highly recommend Triangles to anyone looking for a good tip on their cue. I still use them on my Mottey. Maybe I'll give them another try on my Jim White when it comes time for a change.

i like triumph tips more
I had Wes Hunter put one on a new shaft he made for me to try out. I'm glad I tried one. I am now play with Triangles only and cutoff the Kamui III Med Soft tip I had on my other shaft.
Triangles came on a couple sticks that Jerry Olivier made for me. I like them a lot. They last longer than Lepro, too.
Tips are such a subjective thing. My McDermott came with a Triangle and I thought it was okay but now I use a Hard Black Kamui. I'm addicted to layered tips. I've used and liked Moori, Wizard, Emerald and Super Pro tips. I don't like Elk Master and Le Pro tips -but that's me.
Yup Triangle's rock. I played with a moori for a year but I went back after I had to get it re-tipped. It took some time to get used to but I'm sticking with the triangle.
