who has the hardest break?

I can't believe NO ONE has mentioned "Little" David Howard, the Giant Killer. He hit them harder than ANYONE. It was just ridiculous how hard he hit the break. Best 9 ball break ever IMO.

Here, in the Carolinas, we have two shortstops who can break just as good as Larry Nevel. They are Chew tabacca (don't know his real name, I think its Darrel) and Greg Dix.

I dunno if Kucharo gambles anymore, but ask Larry Nevel or Bryant if they want to have a break speed contest with him using a radar gun or whatever. If Jon doesn't gamble like he said, for sure someone would bet on Jon. You never know, this might be some interesting action. But again, I guarantee you they can't break as hard as Kucharo.

Cuetech- if he had money would bet everything on Kucharo :D

Charlie just might. He claims to have the fastest break ever recorded.

Seen that youngster break. I don't think his name even needs to be mentioned in this topic. In no way does his break compare to the world beaters everyone is talking about.

Not only can Jamie Baraks not break harded than Larry Nevel, he sure as heck can't play as good either. Larry has the hardest most powereful break of any of the pros or anyone else for that matter.

WITHOUT A DOUBT, LARRY NEVEL. It is amazing. I watched him break a brand new protype predator break cue one time on his third break. IT is unbelievable to watch.

Just so the guys no how hard larry does break.I just called him on the phone and he said he did break the new predater bk in 3 breaks..

> I've said this before,if there is ANY living human that hits them as hard and as square as Kucharo from rack to rack,I don't know about it. I watched him at the U.S. Open in 2000,for close to 2 hours doing nothing but breaking. The cue ball was consistently 2,3,sometimes 4 feet in the air,and it came back in such a straight line it looked like it was going to hit him in the face, and stopped dead every time. You just couldn't hit them any better with a machine. The cue ball stopped in an area about a foot in diameter, unless it got kicked, and did it close to 60 times in a row. He was doing this from out in the middle of the table too,in the corner of the break box, instead of off the rail. Larry lights them up too,but not as consistently. Tommy D.

Francisco b.
Jamie Baraks-he breaks alot harder than nevel.

As far as Making a ball on the break, cueball control, getting a shot after the break, and power combined Johnny Archer no question.

Yeahbut, Archer has the silliest looking break I've ever seen ... cracks me up every time I see him break.

Get serious. Jason breaks harder than he does.

These 2, by far, break harder than anyone on the planet!

I have to agree with this. I've played most of the guys mentioned and these are the breaks that concern me the most during a match. However, Larry is notoriously wild with his break and I've seen him jump the cue ball into the next zip code on more than one occasion.

The question is a little irrelevant, though, because in reality anyone who can break 25mph or greater has a wickedly hard break. Of all of them, Archer and Deuel have the scariest breaks, even if they're not the hardest, because they can reproduce the results so well, and that leads to a long stay in the chair for you if they get things working.

Keith Bennett (sp?)

I'm just curious where Keith Bennett (sp?) rates in here. I saw him playing SVB at the last Derby City and he was hitting them so hard, I was honestly worried about being on the end of the table he was breaking toward although he had pretty good control while he was smashing the balls. I ended up going to bed before they finished, but I heard he ended up coming back from a sizable deficit and winning the set.

Pound for pound I have never seen anyone hit them like me, Charles Bryant, George Breedlove, and Larry Nevel can also produce Huge powerful breaks. George is the closest player to my size who's break compares to mine, he has a fantastic power break and I used to watch him play on accustats and try to emulate his break. Archer knows alot about the rack and how to hit it solid but these names I mentioned are the best breaks ohh Jamie Baracks and John Kucharo's break is very powerful also.
Sincerely, Danny Harriman(ESPN 6 balls pocketed on the break)

I remember seeing this on TV, if I remember right you made 6 balls on a 7 ball rack and had tough position on the 7 ball which you proceeded to fire in like it was a hanger. Yeah, you hit em pretty hard! :D

yea, dito on the above. That break was a TKO. By the way, who was your opponent at that time, Harriman? I forgot.

Aside from that question; yes, I can totally agree with the posts above that Charlie Hillbilly, The Truth Nevel and Bustamante have such power breaks (not to mention D. Harriman). Evgeny Stalev of Russia has such an overdramatic style of breaking that he just eventually follows through "through the table". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l2X4fW262M&mode=related&search= Not bad for a person converting skill from Russian to Pocket Billiards.

Larry Nevel hits em harder than anyone Ive ever seen. He broke the one ball off the table at a tournament against me.

And that was his controlled break...
