For those of you who don't know Jim Pierce, I hope that this thread will enlighten you. My photography is terrible, however, I hope that it will do for now. I am showing my collection of his cues, and ask that anyone else who has one or more of his please share a pic or two.

His choice of woods are phenomenal, his points fanatical, and his finishes like glass! He is a player who makes player cues for players.

Fanatic

Jim is definitely a fanatic about his cues and shoots a good game as well. That wrapless ebony cue is sweet!

Hope you can make it out to the West Coast Cue Show in November. Jim will be there again this year showing off his work.

Rex- My wife and I already have our reservations made. The plan is that we WILL be there to welcome Jim back to California, even if it's only for a weekend. He's a buddy! That's not to mention all the other great cue makers that will attend.

Here's a Pierce I got from tommie. Love it.

There's just something special about the way Jim's cues hit! A person can pick up one of his cues for the first time and feel as if they've played with the cue all their life. The "BOWLING ALLEY" wood shafts hit SO DAMN SOLID!

My Old School Purpleheart

Here is the "mix" photo of my purpleheart beauty! All white in this one is Juma.

I have a quilted maple and Coco wrapless also, similar to the one posted here, but with stacked zebrawood veneer rings, simply gorgeous!!

Keep them coming guys! He has sold them all over the world! By the way, you might also add just how your cue(s) hits!

Friend

Yes Jim is a Heck of a Cuemaker and I was lucky enough to introduce him here on AZ and sell alot of his cues, a couple to my friend Tony. The main thing is I can call him a friend, one of my best. He has always treated me very well as he does everyone. You cannot go wrong with one of his cues. They all hit great. No matter if you get a high end or a plain jane. He is a true craftsman.

All right, GUYS!! Keep them coming, this is getting good!
What makes YOUR PIERCE CUE so special for you?? For me, the surprise is, every time I think I have just grabbed his best work yet, he comes out with two or three that just blow me away.!! No computer stuff here! This stuff is designed, cut, inlaid by the man himself! He must dream this stuff up!:clapping:

Well, Jim is a super cuemaker, he plays pool pretty well (top 30 at BCA nationals), but most of all, he is a great person.

I have had the pleasure of handling several cues for Jim. That might create somewhat of a bias towards Jim, but I assure you that my feelings towards Jim are in no way influenced by any business relationship I have with him. Dealing pool cues is a hobby for me...I made a living doing other things for a long time...I don't make a living off pool cues...I just enjoy them.

Jim is a truly nice guy. If you ever have the pleasure of talking with him for a little while, you will know what I mean. He is also very passionate about building pool cues (as well as motorcycle racing). It is my personal opinion that he builds a great playing cue. His shaft taper plays and feels great. His attention to detail is super, and I know for a fact that he is still trying to learn to be even better at his craft, and I assure you that his customer service is as good as it gets.

Great quality, great playability, and super value from a really nice guy.....but all of that is just my opinion. Try one of Jim's cues and see for yourself.

I've owned a few Pierce Cues, one of them is my daily player, the best playing cue I've ever owned.
Just talked to Jim yesterday, he is going through some difficult time, a lot of stuff has happened to him since the move, but he's still building cues and slowly back on his feet now.
Order now while his wait time is still not crazy.

Who's jim? he's the most DTE cue maker i've met so far. builds a solid cue and likes to get in the box on his own time.

Thanks everybody for all the support!

Like Bama said, making cues is my passion and I am always trying to find ways to build a better cue. It is a never ending process of trial, error, success, and frustration, all at the same time. But I love it. I wouldn't do anything else.

Reading threads like this one, along with seeing people play with and enjoy my cues, helps keep me motivated when things aren't going exactly like I hoped. I couldn't have made it as far as I have without all of you.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the West Coast Cue Show in November!
Jim Pierce

I met Jim at VF this past year & he was a true gentleman. He took the time to talk with both me & my wife about cues & how long he has been building them. We must have talked for atleast an hour at one point. GL in the future Jim & keep plugging away at it.
Your cues keep getting better & better with each new one you make.
Jeff

Thanks for all the input and great pics! As I mentioned in earler posts, Jim is a great friend, who has built some fantastic cues for me personally, and I have seen most of the others he has built over the years.

I know that in today's economic situation, people are leery of buying cues from new or fairly unknown cue makers. Take another look at some of these pics people have posted. Jim offers a VERY reasonable price on cues that are true players. He also stands behind his work, and will keep a customer satisfied and coming back for more.
