He is a local player from the San Antonio area, been play a good speed for 20yrs. He's not Pro level, but on a bar box or a 4x8 he is dangerous.

This pretty much sums it up. He lives in the Houston area now, and has for as long as I can remember. Doesn't talk much, just likes to play and when in stroke, can get out from anywhere.
Manuel lives in Houston but his best friend lives in San Antonio so he visits half a dozen times per year. They are both from the same city in Mexico.
Manuel is a good player and played better in the 90's. He beat a number of the top names of the era gambling. Manuel first went to California and ended up in Houston years ago.
That match pretty much went like this. CJ would scratch on most of his breaks and Manuel would run out.

Manuel played superb in that match
Manuel played superb in that match, and I was still trying to acclimate myself to the tables. Even if I would have played flawless it still may not have went my way, Manuel is capable of beating anyone in the world a short race on 8' tables. imho
I took that loss as a positive and took my game up a few notches, who would have guessed my 3rd place finish? I'm playing at a solid 97%, and learned some key things to practice in the last two tournaments (Shreveport and San Antonio).

Best of luck in reaching your top speed again, CJ. I attended more than a few PBT events in which you played and know how strong your pedigree is.
that semi final match you had the guy 6-3 CJ but that scratch in side then a scratch in corner on that safety shot then a bad safe on hill hill and the match just slipped away i was hoping to see you and manny in the final o well still a good 3rd place finish good run on the b side
Any A or better player is capable of making a 9-ball race to 7 look pretty lopsided no matter who they are playing. A few good breaks, maybe a lucky roll here or there, and the set is over before you know it. I seriously doubt that Manuel himself would expect to get that result every time he plays CJ, but it's going to happen every now and again.
Very humble response. I would like to see more people lose this way, opposed to blaming it on everything other than their opponent playing great. Very nice finish CJ
CJ plays fast , when he played that 3-6 combo and the 3 rolled off against the rail it killed him , think he got anxious or in a hurry to end the match, even though he has played tons of pool.
Yes, that had been a hectic day starting in the losers bracket. My endurance was tested and I unfortunately had a couple of "mis fires" in the last match.....and such is life....
