Who is the best 1 pocket teacher?

I would like to learn more 1 pocket. Who is the best teacher that can communicate their ideas so that they are easy to understand? Travel is no problem inside the 48. Would like to know who you like and why. Also, any 1 pocket instructional vids that you think are exceptionally good. Thanks

Accustats got good collections of DVD of Efren, so as Youtube. But no matter who teaches you, one rule in one pocket, never give your opponent straight in shot or easy bank shot, keep CB when playing safe closest to opponent's pocket and preferably hiding a ball near your pocket, some good players say do not break the rack hard and open balls too much, unless you are going for the out..master the break shot.

Regarding instructional dvd's my favorite is actually a match between Jimmy Fusco and Jim Rempe. The Beard is the commentator. The commentary and Fusco's play make this match tops for learning, IMO.

Interesting...says da beard:
This the Jim Rempe/Jim Fusco 1pkt match at the Legends tournament in Philadelphia in 1991, with me the Beard, as commentator. The full, original accu-stats match runs 3 hours & 5 min. and is now available in DVD format here on this site for $26, and comes highly recommended. If you want to learn some of the intricacies of 1pkt this is the DVD you will want to study and watch. Jimmy Fusco puts on a veritable clinic of how to play master 1 pkt. He squeezes the great Jim Rempe like a python. This is the best-selling accu-stats 1 pkt match of all-time.

Billy Incardona would be my first pick then Jeremy Jones. I would say Scott Frost but I have picked his brain enough but really will never get all the knowledge he has about the game nor his execution. We will be shooting Power One Pocket Volume 2 starting tonight and should get it out within a few weeks.

What???

Danny D. is a recognized 14.1 specialist. 1pocket... not so much.

Lou Figueroa

Not sure where you got your opinion, but its far from the facts. Danny D is as good of a One Pocket instructor as there is and is only second to Grady.....,

He plays the game at a very good speed too.

I agree..., for the most part

Call up Billy Incardona not far from ohio and lives in Chicago!!!

Can't do much better than him.

Young guys I would pick SYLVER OCHOA!!! head down to Texas or Jeremy Jones!!!

KD

Sylver cant teach. Unless you are a pretty good player already he cant help you. Its not the doesn't know the game, he just cant help someone understand how to do what he does.

Jeremy is ok, but your other suggestion are far better then either of these two.

wow!!!!!!!

Tom is a great suggestion.

Tell you what I learned watching good players: when you position balls in front of your pocket, leave them in the zone that is an arc in front of your pocket, about 1-1.5" away from your pocket.

Also, don't turn the table over as the result of an error.

Easy, see?

Hey buddy, long time no see. I've lost a ton of games leaving a ball 1/2" from my pocket.

Tom Wirth, South Florida. I like him a lot.
Onepocketghost, Chicago. He's been around a long time

Not sure about lessons from the other great players mentioned

IMO it makes a difference how well you pocket balls. If you're an open player that can runout when given the chance I'd learn from one of the new runout players. If you can't get out much given the chance or choke a lot I'd learn from one of the shoot-duck, shoot-duck guys. Johnnyt

IMHO.....Jimmy fusco is one of the top 3 one pocket teachers in the country ,also the top 3 nicest guys in pool....and number 1 in his rates per hr he charges.

$40 per hr, with a smoke break allowed (his). Maybe a 3hr minimum.i have it written down at work.

I was shocked to hear how little he charges. Wish i had 200 a month in disposable income. Being that i work for petey he probably would cut me a deal but i would want to pay more because at that rate i feel im already stealing.
Anyone interested tho could contact me and ill pass along the info.
Downside is he cant travel far from philly but anywhere less the 1hr away is possible.

Good luck, one pocket is the modern game of champions

Another name for you and a GOOD teacher is Tom Wirth {Tom Tom} lives in florida and WON the Capital City Classic/strawberrry tournament in DC area. He can TEACH well!!!

KD

Tom Wirth is a great choice. Nice person, excellent teacher, and a one pocket player extraordinaire.

A world one-pocket champion that can explain things very well?
Danny Diliberto....a vast memory....and very literate.
Agreed. Danny can play 1p. And as a teacher, he is very good at getting his point across.

This thread has listed many very good and qualified one pocket teachers. Who is the best? Experience!
