Who is the most honest Pro player?

You are right Mark, that speaks worlds for a man's moral character.

At the first IPT qualifier, which was held at Derby City Classic (around 2008)?—— George Breedlove was playing for the win, and I think a spot on the upcoming tour.

He touched a ball and determined it was a foul and called it on himself. Nobody saw it. No one knew except himself. This was a huge statement on his moral Fibre- he lost the match.

I’ll add Tommy Kennedy to the list. I’d let him hold my wallet.

but your wallet doesn't have money in it. :p

I was scrolling down the thread to see if anyone listed TK and glad to see you beat me to it. I was gonna list him and Ralf.

best,

I’ve been in a lot of action and played a lot of tournaments in my life.
...my experience on honesty...about 50-50
....which puts us away ahead of soccer players....

In snooker its every player.

If a player is deemed to have not called a foul (e.g. accidentally feathering the cue ball) there are endless replays, debates and plenty of chat...because its so rare.

Tbh maybe the culture is different in the US, but in Europe it is expected that you call your own fouls in pool too, it would be rare for a player to knowingly foul and not point it out.

Not to say it never happens, but its pretty rare.

I assumed it would be the same in the US, i.e. players may genuinely not realise they've feathered the cue ball or something, but wouldn't deliberately not call a foul.

Yeah, there's never been any cheating/dumping scandals in Snooker:rolleyes:

As you know there have been and they rightly got called out, with some players getting banned for life.

Does that happen in pool?

(I'm not trying to 'diss' pool, I'm a pool player myself, but be realistic, snooker is light years ahead in this respect).

Simple question, calls his/her own fouls even when others don't notice, reputation beyond reproach, etc...

If I had to give an "honesty" score, here would be my top three:

Out of 5.0.

Ralf Souquet -- 4.7

Tommy Kennedy -- 4.4

Oscar Dominguez -- 4.2

NOBODY'S PERFECT, FOLKS

This thread would be more fun (and longer) naming the least honest.

In the meanwhile, I agree with some of the other posters:

-Oscar
...and I'll add Efren (I've never seen him have an issue with anyone)

George Breedlove

He paid $2000 entry to qualify for the IPT tour. He was on the hill for the win when he called a foul on himself that no one else saw. That cost him the qualifier and the $1000's he could have made on the tour. Johnnyt
