For me it has to be Buddy Hall. I love listening to him for some reason. His voice, sense of humor and pool knowledge makes watching pool more enjoyable for me.

I like Buddy also. Billy Incardona is the man when it comes to 1-pocket commentating. Jeremy Jones does a real good job, you just don't hear him doing it very often.

Of all time it's got to be Billy.

I also like Jay and Grady and Buddy off the top of my head.

All of these guys have plenty of color to add.

Recently I've also realized that Jeremy Jones is very good in the booth.

My favorite was Grady Matthews (RIP).
Freddie A has done some great matches.

Don't get me started on the others. Even some of my favorites have really p*ssed me off sometimes.

Danny and Billy

Nothing better then Danny Dilerberto and Billy Incardona doing the commentary at the Executive West Derby City. They were great.

I like them all, but Billy incardona is my favorite. He stays on point And goes into great detail Of analyzing the shots. I want to know what the players thinking And what are the options on the shot. Even the smallest details. This makes the match more exciting Because It puts me in tune with the player. When he is feeling pressure I feel the pressure. I do not like When the commentator strayS . I do like random stories But keep them short and sweet While they are fighting the rack. Jimmy is the pro commentator he works great with everyone. Danny has some brilliant insights but thats on the tuff shots. I want to know what the players thinking what the players feeling I want to know more about the players background.

I agree with Danny DiLiberto & Billie Incardona. Billy Gibbs, Jim Wyche, Jerry Forsythe and Mark Wilson do a good job also. What I don't like are the guys who act like radio DJ's and just talk to hear themselves talk or spend more time BSing with guys in the chatroom than actually commentating ON the match at hand. I've done a bit of commentating for Accu-Stats and I know it's not as easy as it looks but it needs to be educational and informative and that's where Accu-Stats are heads above the other streamers. JMHO

Don't forget Ray.
Yes our own Bigtruck has much pool knowledge and a good voice for commentating.

I think the problem Sherm is that most of the streamers have a different agenda than making DVD's with commentary or ESPN-like viewing. I gather most people don't realize that some of the streamers want it fairly loose with chatroom interaction. Some of the streamers depending on the event or that particular matchup want viewers to have a feel of the event, etc.

If the guys who are producing the stream say:

"Mentions the sponsors every rack, repeat the chatroom question before answering it so that people know what you're responding to, don't be so boring and get too technical on the game, etc..."

well.. that's what's going to come out!!!

Sometimes, two guys get in the booth and the instructions are "have fun, but try not to swear too much and move the mic from your mouth when drinking, coughing or burping."

My feeling is that a lot of AZers believe that the commentators and streamers all have the same goal. They don't. And I never expected they should.

Freddie <~~~ not speaking for anyone in particular

Double J is solid man. He knows so much about the game and has a lot of seasoning so he knows all games so could commentate any match pretty much. Not to take away from Billy Incardonia or Grady.
