Who is your pick to win the Turning Stone Classic IX 9-Ball Open?

Bumping to the front as this is going on this weekend.

Archer lost 1st round, Parica and Mika got beat 2nd round. Seems like Mika has had a hard time rising to the top for some time now.

Interesting Matchups to watch for;
Shane VB vs Mike Zuglan
Thorsten Hohmann vs John Morra
Louis Ulrich vs Allen Hopkins
Stevie Moore vs Niels Feijen

Dennis Hatch beat Mika 9-2 in the 2nd round, and he will be playing
Dennis Orcullo next. This is the round match I would most like to watch.

That's funny you should mention that about Mika. I remember a few months ago or maybe even several months ago that Mika was very proud of the fact that he was "getting into shape" at the gym. He mentioned that he thought it was helping his game. I'm wondering if that gym business is all that people think it is. I am sure cardiovascular workouts help increase stamina and concentration but the lifting of the weights is still up for discussion IMHO. The really good players don't look like they've pumped a lot of iron. (Yeah, yeah, I know some of the guys hit the gym regularly like Feijen & Thorsten (I didn't want to spell his last name and be accused of being Imus). I figure that you need to be in decent physical health muscles wise but more importantly, you need to have good vision, nerves and be able to focus. (besides being able to swing a cue straight). It may be what you get used to but for the most part, the best pool players in the world have NEVER looked like body builders.

You just don't need strong muscle groups to swing a 19 ounce cue.

My vHorse Karen Corr is knockin' the men off left and right. Next on her list is Ronnie "Nothin's funny when Karen Corr's taking my money" Wiseman.

Can't give you any more green, DP but keep 'em coming.

So, on 8-15 Joey A. makes his usual drive by posting, both players pick a number (one picks 7 and one picks 8) and then they WAIT for JoeyA.
Three days go by and Joey doesn't visit the thread again and the tournament STARTS......

( if I go to jail, I'm not using my ONE phonecall to call JoeyA. ) :)

Look, 747 or 147 whatever you go by these days, I expect for the interested parties to contact me via PM or phone. :p

I'm just the idea man. Besides, I can't be expected to remember which flower I visited yesterday or even the day before.

JoeyA (likes variety, quality and volume, not necessarily in that order) The number was 26, although it should have been 50.

Good luck to the locals from Rochester NY, Ron Casanzio-loser's bracket, Lyn Wechsler-loser's bracket, and especially Dave Grau-still in winners bracket-next to play Dennis Orcollo. Good luck guys!!!

GO "D" GO "D" GOOOOO.
My main man from NY, The Hatchet go get'em "D" ROCK.......

He's playing Archer now. A bad draw for the Losers side. And the winner gets Mike Davis. DARN! All my guys are knocking each other out. The draw was bad for me.

I was mistaken

Parica did not get beat in the 2nd round (could have sworn it showed him losing), and has gone on to beat Ronnie Alcano (guess the new kid still has some learning to do! ... LOL).

pick

I told you guys to watch stevie moore, had a little talk with him before he left, and he had that look in his eye. if he gets pass jose p i think he stands a good chance!!!!!!:) :) :) :)

I like Moore and Parica, but they also play each other. But I pulling for one of them thru that bracket.

I am looking for my friend Carmen Lombardo to beat her. I was shooting with him this week, and told him it all depends on the draw.

Dennis Orcullo and Lee Van Corteza are still unbeaten. However, there is a strong possibility they will face each other soon.

Okay, 5-2 but that's it. We can bet 20 or 40 or 80. Your 20 against my 50 etc.

Notice I left out quite a few very good players, like Richie Orem and Ronnie Wiseman just to name two.
jay how about little stevie? do you like wiseman or orem against stevie for the cash? i know orem can get good weight(8) and im pretty sure ronnie gets weight also, but probably not the eight.

There ain't no little Stevie in my book. He's a helluva player. I pick him over either of these two, unless he gets out of line with Ronnie.
