Who Really is the BEST Pool Hustler in the Country?

I understand there can be regional differences in how games are played so I'm trying to understand what you write. You say the 6 would be your "called spot ball" if the 4,6,7,8 & 9 were left. Going by that a person could make the 4/6 combo and win the game, no?

When you are getting the last 4 you don't know what the game-winning balls are until there are 4 balls left on the table is my point.

I also don't understand your distinction between "called spot balls" and "moneyballs". A moneyball is any ball that gives a shooter a win is it not?

Getting the last 4 and making 6 balls on the break and NOT winning is an awfully tough way to play. I've never heard of that before. I would ask this though; if there are only 3 balls left on the table after the break how did the breaker not win or is this an agreed upon method of playing where you are?

ONB

Does anybody make 6 balls on the break with any consistency? I feel like this not being part of the rules before play is more a function of the fact that it is beyond rare for it to happen. If someone does make 6 on the break consistently they should be the one giving weight.

Actually the more meaningful questions in my post were the other ones that were ignored.

I'll answer your question though. If you are giving a person the last 4 and he makes 6 balls on the break then he made one of the last 4. He should win. If it's not played that way in some regions of the country or some drunks in bars play that way then that's up to them.

It doesn't matter if it's "beyond rare" for it to happen. If it happens it should be a win for the breaker and it is in every poolroom I've ever been in. The last 4 is the last 4, it doesn't change because the player receiving the weight is breaking.

To each his own, gambling rules are different everywhere, but would you want to be getting the last 4 and make 6 balls on the break and be told you don't win?

P.S. It happens on bartables more often than anywhere else.

What did keith mccready actually win?

I think he competed in fewer tournaments than a lot of the top players of his era. One big win in his near-prime years was the BC Open in 1985, with a $25,000 prize.

In more recent years, the AzB results archive shows him winning a Joss Tour event in 2002, 4 events on the Falcon Cue 9-Ball Tour (Planet Pool Tour) in 2003, 2 Joss Tour events and a Falcon event in 2004, and 1 Joss Tour event in 2005.

We challenge Scooter to bring "his crew" to play "our crew" in Indianapolis for $20,000 (minimum entry fee) and must play and continue to "match up" until one crew has $40,000. This will be a HUGE feather in Scooter's hat and prove he really is #1. After the match we will shake hands and acknowledge the winner as "The Best Hustler of the Generations".

This is a friendly offer to "Play Some Pool Fast Eddie" (or Fast Scooter) ;)

Remember one thing, Scooter - 'The Real "Best Pool Hustler" Will Be Your Teacher'

This is the same guy who challenged many others a year ago, now he's challenging a scooter.:

It's very entertaining to see, I'm in the process of matching up some 'Two Shot Shoot Out' games in the future, I'd like to play Rodney, Earl, Johnny, Corey, Dennis Hatch, and Shannon Dalton at some point......we may be able to get these matches televised, and we can definitely get them streamed here in Ft. Worth Texas.

Right now I'm talking to Rodney about doing a 'Two Shot Shoot Out' match in December after the Mosconi Cup. He'a going to the "All Japan Open" next week to tune up for the MC. Shot for shot, Rodney is still one of the five best players in the world in my opinion.

There's a lot of interest right now in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and the Omega Tour has set their entire 2014 Schedule which is exciting. They run first class tournaments and I may start playing in some next year - this year my plate was too full earlier in the year and I my game stayed at 85%. It's up around 90% now though, so we're making progress.

Rodney is also working on some projects that are interesting and I'm sure he'll share the insight of his vision as it nears fruition..

Earl is another one that played 'Two Shot Shoot Out' as good as anyone, and it would great to play him and see what shots he comes up with. They just announced when the SKY SPORTS documentary was coming out, December 1 at 9 PM.....I think that's what it was, I'll correct it later if I'm off on the time or day.

Dennis Hatch and I played 'Two Shot Shoot Out' on several occasions for money through the years. We all know he's one of the most dangerous, offensive players in the biz....it's a matter of time before he wins another major tournament.

Johnny always wanted to play "One Foul" with me, but I'm sure he would like to play "Two Shot" under the right conditions. He will do great as this year's Team Captain, he was my "right hand player" last year and knows the Mosconi Cup better than any living human....he's been there and done that......a LOT of times.

2014 is going to be the "break away year" for Pro Pocket Billiards, there's a huge amount of changes fixing to happen and they will be the "difference that makes the difference".....one things for sure, we'll never get where we want to go by doing the "same ole thing".....'The Game is the Teacher'

Same ole CJ, always spewing crap that everyone loves and then forgets about.

I'd say the best hustler is the pool hustler who hits the age of 60 and has the most money in the bank and other tangible assets.

I mean, winning the cheese is one thing, investing well, saving something for a rainy day, and looking at the long term will always show a clear cut winner.

I mean, I've known some hustlers, and some of what they won on the pool table went right up their nose, went to the ponies, just drank it away, or pissed it away on fancy cars, ex-wives and other bs that don't hold their value or help them long term.

I'm not knocking anyone, just saying, the real hustler will hold most of the cheese in the "end" and had something on the ball. With that being said, I don't know who that would be, but it certainly has to be included in the discussion.

I'm sure there are a few out there... probably not a parking lot full, but gotta be a few ;)

I know a guy that was one of the best big money road players ever
and he used the money he had won to open one of the biggest most successful
pool rooms in the country and a state of the art million dollar night club.
He then was smart enough to sell both at a big profit before the bottom
fell out of the business and guess what his name is C J Wiley

Now he has 8,629 posts to hawk his DVD's and has a spectacular I-Trader rating of 21 successful sales. That should add quite a bit to his millions!

Sammy Soto is the best hustler. Hustled some world champs out of their money. I believe strong arm knows him.

Thanks. Myth and legend, as suspected.

I look forward to the impending trainwreck with even more interest.

There is no train wreck on the horizon. Here's why and how it will go.

CJ: Hey Scooter, let's play some for $20,000.

Scooter: Sure CJ but I need this, this, this and this.

CJ: Well I won't give you that.

Scooter: Then we won't play.

CJ: But I'm the best pool hustler around:confused:

You seem to be jumping in and out of threads knocking Keith McCready. We all know that you have several identities on this forum. Why the moderators allow you to post with multiple identities, some of which have been banned more than once, is curious. I think I will write to them and ask why. It seems like you go out of your way to troll threads rather than contribute anything pool-worthy.

With that said, you might write that Keith McCready is a myth and a legend, but you can be damn sure that he would be your worst nightmare if you ever had the nerve so show your cowardly face on this forum. You're nothing more than a pathetic troll, and I wish the moderators would do something about you continuing to write mean-spirited remarks about others.

If there's ever an impending trainwreck, it is you on AzBilliards Discussion Forum. I hope you get banned, so we can get back to the normalcy of what a pool forum should be all about.

The 'normalcy' of a pool forum should be about the free exchange of thoughts and expression, so long as they are cordial and within forum rules.

Censorship, intolerance and protectionism should be banned, not free speech.

You troll this forum. We all know it. Free speech? I'd like to see you in person, up front and close, while making your attempt at free speech to many, many, many members of this forum. It's not just Keith. Keith is your toy for today. Tomorrow, it will be somebody else.

My guess is you wouldn't have the nerve to say any of what you write to a person's face. You're a coward hiding behind a computer monitor, Thaiger. This is how you get youf rocks off. Some read porn; you troll AzBilliards.

Where have i 'trolled' keith? I had never heard of him until joining this site, have never seen him play and asked what he had won, that is all.

Don't forget, this is a site for fans. Go to a football site or a boxing site, and you are perfectly free to choose frazier over ali, or messi over ronaldo.

Lines needn't be drawn.

If you have never heard of him, why would you even attempt to summarize Keith McCready as a "myth or a legend"? Are you kidding me? It is quite evident that he's a real person who has made a dent in the pool world. Just because a troll doesn't know who he is doesn't mean he's not noteworthy, but I'm feeding a troll by even replying to you. Are you getting off? Is this exciting for you?

Save your rationaliztion for the moderators. We can all see right through you. I just hope they take measures to prevent you from trolling others. This is an everyday happening with you. I don't understand why they allow you on this forum. If they ban "Thaiger" and then "RonSwanson," what will your next identity be? My guess is you already have one in reserve.

Never in my life will I ever understand why people do what you do on a forum. Your life must be quite uneventful. In this regard, I feel sorry for you. Maybe you will find happiness someday and quit trying to bad-mouth people you know nothing about.

Where have i 'bad mouthed' him?

There are all sorts of players in all sorts of sports where the words myth and legend are appropriate. Those that have never been great champions but are more popular and revered than those that are.

Folklore and cult heroes. Sounds to fit keith to me...
