I was just wondering, who would you guys recommend to send a cue to for a review? I think I make a pretty solid cue and I would love someone who knows a whole lot more than me and who is a whole lot more experienced than myself to rate one of my cues. I was planning on making a merry widow cue with a Jobilo handle and Birdseye maple forearm and butt sleeve. Some simple ringwork and some phenolic collars. I am just wondering who woud you guys like to rate your cues? If you have any recomendations as to what kind of cue would be better to rate or review please let me know. I can't cut my own points so that is out. Thanks for your advice in advance.

befriend a cue maker that will give you sound info,and you can be your best critic! if you have question in your mind about your work, then your prolly right. my best advise is to not put anything out to the public that you arnt totally proud of@
i tried googling JOBILO and couldnt find anything

as to your original question, let your customers rate your cues

Thanks for your input, I was just wondering who on here would be a good judge. I don't sell anything I am not proud of and I don't sign anything I feel is subpar. I have given away several cues I have messed up for one reason or another. I haven't had any complaints and I was just looking for a reputable cuemaker to judge my work. I think players don't know the ins and outs of cuemaking and was just wanting some feedback from someone who know firsthand. As for the Jobilo, I will post a pic or two. The woodshop I got it from had it labeled as Jobilo but it could be something else.
manwon. he's a well known member of az and a cue maker. he's done several reviews and is always fair and unbiased.
because of his background he has an eye for detail and since he owns (or maybe it's just runs) a pool hall he can let multiple players of varying skill levels try out your cue and report back to us

i got a real good ass chewing about a cue on azb before i became a member, so i became a member and let it be known if you wanted to see the cue in question i would send it to you and let you play with it for a couple weeks and make your own decision as the playability of my cues. the cue was shipped all over the usa and hundreds of players got a chance to play with one of my cues.
the members of azb were great, each would play, then ship the cue to the next person on the list. then leave a thread as to their feelings about the cue.
i believe they were honest and spoke their minds, i got some very helpful tips and what it might take to improve my cues as far as looks, but 99% loved the way the cue played.
it was a great way for me to get players talking about my cues.

Not trying to be harsh and this is just my opinion.
If you know anything about playing pool and cues you should be able to rate it yourself.
Do you like it?
What dont you like about it.
Next cue you make fix what you dont like.
What problems do you have during the process of making a cue?
Work to improve those with each cue.
Sending a cue around to a bunch of people is not the way to learn anything.
Some will like it for the very same reasons other dont like it at all.
What are you gonna learn from that?
I understand you have made a pool cue and are very proud of that.
We all were when we made our first decent cue.
We all wanted to show the world our handiwork and skill.
It is a good thing to feel that way ... shows you are excited about the craft ... if you didn't you should look for another hobby.
I recommend you take it to the local pool hall or beer joint and play pool with it. Word will get around ... people will ask about it ... before long they will be asking if you can make a cue for them.
This is important ... if you want to be considered more than just another hobbyist in this craft ... make a cue that suits you ... one you like to play with ... try to learn and understand what it is that makes it feel right to you ... then stick to that.
Dont try to make every style of cue there is and dont let your customer push you into making something you would not like for yourself.
There is only two joint pins I would ever use in a cue with the name WILLEECUE engraved on the butt ... 3/8 X 10 and Radial.
If you are looking for a cue makers evaluation of your skill then that is something else and you are right ... players cant help you ... cue makers can.
If you are having problems with a specific area ... you are at the right place to ask.
Like I said ... that is just my opinion ... if you still want to send out the cue send it to me and I will give you my honest opinion about it.

Thanks Willie, I just wanted another cuemakers opinion. I just wanted another cuemaker to give me a review and maybe have some players give me reviews. I feel the more people I can get one of my cues in their hands the more feedback I can get.
