What does that have to do with this thread? JEEZUS, read the question at hand. NOBODY is debating who would win in their primes, even Chris said it bluntly that Keith would beat him.
This is strictly on who would win if they played RIGHT F'ING NOW.

Do people really just post sh*t without reading the other parts of the thread? or, do they read them and simply not comprehend? The world may never know.

I did read this stupid thread. I think you should do another one when Keith is 80. Keith hasn't played in 2 years. Bartrum can beat alot of players in their fifties that haven't played in 2 years. Does this mean that Bartrum is a player? Please explain.

By the way I did vote for Bartrum and it was a tough decision!

Am I missing something here, why is this a stupid thread? Its a simple question to get everyones opinion about a match up between two players. Why is it that if you ask how an older player is playing now and how they would match up today with someone its taken as disrespecting them by not using their game while it was at its prime? Its a simple question, who would win today. I thought it was going to be an interesting thread when I saw the title, then I made the mistake of opening it up and seeing what some of the posters turned it into. I should have known, Corvette seems to attract those people and bring the worst out in them, lol.

Do a possible matchup on two people WHO ARE CURRENTLY PLAYING. Keith hasn't played, doesn't want to play, and he feels disrespected by these kind of threads. Leave him alone.

I over reacted I and am sorry for calling this a stupid thread. Corvett1340 please accept my apology. I will be more careful before posting in the future.

If anything, this poll is a testament to Keith's talent and ability. The fact that he could even be close to a player like Chris now, who plays anyone and everyone in todays pool scene, HAVING NOT PLAYED IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS AND BEING 50 YEARS OLD. Everyone is construing the contents of the poll as negative when its really a big complement to Keith.

Keith shouldn't feel disrespected. If anything, Chris should feel disrespected that Keith doesn't want to be even compared to his playing ability when Keith is in his 50s and has played in 2 1/2 years. What does that say to Chris about his ability and what he has accomplished in pool, say the past 15 years?

Just because you or anyone else see Keith's name in a thread, does not make it negative. Here it is a positive. People would love to see Keith play - would pay to see Keith play. Keith could get staked, have a chance at some big money (billy has said $100K and you can believe it) along with other advantages given to the players by TAR. Seems like a no brainer.

Well, think about it Corvette. What was your REAL purpose for posting this thread??? We all know you are a big fan of Bartrum. He's the latest 'big gambler', and is trying hard to make a name for himself. And, some, such as yourself, try and make his name bigger than it should be, all just because he gambles for big $$$. What better way to do that, than to compare him to one of the greatest EVER??

That is nothing but a diss to the great player. Whether you think it is or not. Bartrum ONLY comparison to Keith is his willingness to gamble. His game doesn't come close yet, and probably never will. So, how do you get that part to equal out? Have them play each other, of course. Even if it's only in peoples minds.

Of course people will say Bartrum would win if they played today! DUH!!! Keith game was going down a number of years ago, and he hasn't even played in two years! If Chris can't beat him now, he might as well sell his cues and get a job. So, just what would it prove if Chris did win??? Absolutely nothing in anybody's mind that can think a little. Might as well have him play George Rood to, while you're at it!

Face it Corvette. Chris plays real good, I'm not taking anything away from him. But, he IS second tier at best. There are many players he can't beat even, yet. So, it this wasn't your real intention, what was? Not to mention the fact that you and Jam don't get along at all, and you KNEW she would respond to this thread. Then she would get upset, that would bother Keith, and then he would get on here too. Go ahead and say that those that don't care for this type of thread have reading difficulties. We know better, and the fact is, I'm quite sure my reading abilities are FAR superior to yours. I've been tested on it MANY times while in the service, have you??

lmao, another case of a poster having no clue. I am not even a big fan of Chris Bartram. That doesn't mean I don't respect him as a player and a person. If you knew anything about what you are speaking then you would know that Chris and I have gambled on a few occasions. You'd also know that I gave Chris a lot of hell about him calling Stevie out on his list and then bet pretty heavy on Stevie during their TAR match.

All of this info. was readily available right here on the forums, but instead you chose to infer something and then post like it was the truth when in actuality it couldn't be further from the truth.

I'll say it again, reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.

You're not saying that Vette would instigate any negativity, now are you? By the way, I played high school basketball. I haven't picked up a basketball but maybe ten times in 25 years. I bet some of the guys on the high school team would love to play me some one on one. Now, I realize they "live" for b-ball. How long would it take me to be able to play them a little? Hypothetically, of course.

no, he's saying that the point of this thread is a simple question on who would win between the two today, but apparently some of the people on here aren't competent enough to realize that.

By the way, I haven't played b-ball in a long time either and I'll play you some on TAR. You could even start a thread about who would win, and I guarantee you I wouldn't take offense to it or post about anything and everything NOT related specifically to that question.

It's been quite a while. I'm sure eventually we'll run into eachother somewhere. I might shoot it up with ya. I used to throw a few at the backboard when Tony Ellin was alive. Him and Johnny were a hoot with the three pointers and free throws.

Dude, I just don't see the reason to call out something that would never happen. I do get the drift for your reasoning, I think. You know it agitates Keith. And, for no reason. He's not gonna play. For any reason, it's his choice. I just don't get the reason, or maybe I do, for this thread. I'll hold on to the b-ball offer for awhile. One on one, or free throws and three pointers?

First Chris said Alex would beat Keith, then Jam said no he wouldnt and he would walk all over Chris, then Chris said, "bet". So, I decided to make a poll on a theoretical match up of these two that I feel would be a good one and that Im sure a load of people would pay to see.

Its kind of like all the thougts of SVB playing Efren over the last few years and who everyone thought would win. Sure you can threorize about what would have happened when Efren was in his prime, but Efren cant go back to his prime. What he could do was take the Efren of today and step in the box, which he did and it was a helluva close match.

As for the basketball, we could shoot free throws, 3's, and play one on one. You'd have no shot though. :)

You're right, I wouldn't have a shot. Thanks for offering, though. Nice talking to you. I gotta go find a ball and practice. Ah, maybe after work. Then, maybe after a beer or two. Then, I need to play a little pool and drink a little more. Maybe after that. Nay, maybe tomorrow. Fu#$ it. You're right, I don't have a shot.

Maybe not the one on one. I am 5'10". I truly feel I can hold my own on the foul line and arc. I was the shortest point guard in our division. I basically stood outside and waited. Man, that feels like forever ago. Ask Johnny about three pointers. I started to say, ask Tony. Sorry, RIP Tony.

The best chance you have to get Keith out of retirement is to bring lots of money and PLAY 9 BALL WITH ROLL OUT RULES AND WINNER BREAKS. When one foul rules came into play everybody but Keith's game went up two balls. Keith is a great shot maker and punished players with this talent. After about the 3rd time you rolled out to a tough shot and Keith made it like it was nothing and ran out your arm will tighten up.

Roll out is about running out. One foul is about shooting until you get out out of line and then playing safe (turning a chump into a champion). I believe this is what Keith thinks about the two games and doesn't care to play one foul at all.

Dang people. How is this thread any different from the old/new school threads that have been popping up like wildfire lately. And as far as Vette trying to pump Chris up, they haven't exactly been best buddies on here, lol. I really think that Keith should take this as a massive compliment. To have this number of people say he could even compete with a strong player like CB after this long off speaks volumes to the respect he truly gets. I, for one, think this would be an absolutely intriguing matchup. And for personally, I have never met Mr. Mcready, and Chris has been cool every time I have seen him(even while talking about matching up with me, which is pretty damn rare theses days). I wish both the best, and would love to see this one if it ever goes down. Vette, I for one actually like this thread. Hope that doesn't offend anyone.............
