Who won amateur open SBE 2012?

yes sir..he beat my friend Brett Stottlymyer in the final. Wasn't much of a match. Brett just couldn't get a break Every roll seemed to go against him and his opponent was a hell of a player in his own right who took advantage of every opportunity. But thats what great players do! He won I believe 5-2 5-0. Believe me that's not making any excuses. brett got plenty of rolls himself..That's just how 9 ball is when you hit this level of play. :)

I'm not sure who Lee Holt is, though I have heard the name bandied about, but I have seen Brett play up front and close. He's strong enough to beat any living pool champion on the face of the earth. How he's deemed an amateur, well, that's kind of strange, unless he's shooting one-handed.

lol I know. He's won the action pool tour and just one a capone cue and had a free ride to the us open for winning the points chase in another pro pool tour in the maryland,pa, jersey area.. the name escapes me right now. I watched mcreesh this year make it to the semi finals in the pro arena and most people say when him and brett play it's even money. lol so yeah the amateur at the expo really isn't so amateur.

Can someone that was there on Sunday shed some light on the 3rd/4th place finishers. I believe I heard one of the commentators on the stream say Sergio Rivas is 12 years old?
Every year there are guys playing in it that play pro speed......Alot of them have played numerous times and never won it. With short sets, alternate breaks, and a field that strong playing bar box 9ball its almost impossible to say who will win the open.

yep that's who lee played in the semi's. The kid played good but just like brett couldn't buy a roll. Brett and lee had everything going there way..It just lasted for one more round for lee ;)

Its amazing that you have 979 players in the open amateur division and 1st place is only $5,000. just saying

Two brothers won the Under-18 and Under-13 Events. Pretty nice showing for the Evans family. I know their dad is proud.

Yes he is!!!! Opened a can of whip a$$ on me to get to Sunday. Played with the temperment of a new pro player. Made everything and made it look easy. Been trying to come up with a few excuses to tell my fellow players both in Rochester and Vegas how I lost to a twelve year old! Haven't thought of a good one yet!

Thanks for the brackets.

I see that local boys (Louisiana) Casey Kilian and Gerald Huber didn't win the Super Senior event they competed in. Oh well, there's always next year.

I think I noticed one of our old pals from RSB days Robert Rodriguez getting close to the cheese in the open division.

I also saw Richie Richeson in the open amateur division.

Joey,

Also saw Gary Abood's name on the entry list for the Open. He's a Louisiana player now isn't he? Didn't get to play either of your local boys in the stupid seniors. Probably a good thing!
