Maybe I'm going in a different direction, but I'd like to see something different for the next one. It would be like if Tiger played EVERY tourney....a fun thing to watch but too much of a good thing...yaddayadda.

I'm thinking 1 pocket for the next one...race to 30 over a few days.

old school: Varner vs Hopkins

new school: Frost vs Joyner or Chohan or Daulton I think would be a great game.

Gerry

Beat me to it...

Why not throw two "new" guys into it............ then match the winner up against SVB???????

We could even bracket the competitions and roll out a Online Poll to rate players... Kinda BCS like.....or a boxing like set up ....

Rambling over here..nevermind me...................the wine is talking

I want to see him play Orcullo so they can stop bickering lol. But in all seriousness I would like to see SVB knock down all the Filipinos down one by one, lets start with Orcullo :D

Eric.

He tried on his first trip over there, beating De Luna, Luat and Gallego back to back to back. But then he lost to Kiamco in a Race To 28, a very long match. No one will ever go to the PI and beat everyone. It just ain't gonna happen. They have too many good players and they just keep firing at you. Eventually even the best of players will get worn down and lose a match, just like Shane did to Kiamco. And like Corteza did to Orcullo earlier this year.

I don't care who you are, you can get games for the rest of your life in the PI. If you beat one guy, ten others are lined up waiting for their crack at you. Even the almighty Yang is smart enough to take them on one at a time. They'd wear him out too, if he stayed long enough.

I would love to see SVB and Jesse Bowman do battle on a Diamond 7ftr via some 8 ball. I know there's history between Shane and Jesse, so that would just add to the drama of the whole thing.

Shane vs Yang is the match I'd most like to see. If we're talking Americans only, then I'd pick Shane vs Larry Nevel.

I voted for Reyes because his wndow may be closing and I'de like to see him vs SVB before time takes it's toll on Bata.

I also wouldn't mind him matching up w/ Peach, because I think he wins that one with not a lot of problems. (Peach is no gambler and the heat would be intense for him)

But I also like Gerry's idea. Shane HAS to have the title until he loses it in an Action Report challenge. But maybe they could have some of the "contenders" match up for a line in the pecking order.

Old school, I like Gerry's idea of Varner vs Hopkins. Or Grady vs Billy.

"New school", man, would I love to see Shannon Daulton vs Danny Harriman in the Derby City 3 of Banks, 1 Pocket and 9 ball.

I voted for Efren because I love to watch him play and I think he still has the ability to play with the best and win. SVB definately has the break advantage which would favor him in that catagory but if they play alternate breaks, it would change that somewhat. I also would like to see Larry Nevel play if I had a second vote. Nevel's break is on par with Shane's I think.

I voted Yang too since he beat the best money player in the world recently. I don't know if Yang would be interested in 10-ball though. If he's not, I'm sure many of the pinoys would be interested. Out of them I'd prefer Alex or Dennis.

give yang a chance. i've seen the guy string together amazing racks of 9, and he's got a hell of a break

I picked Archer because its a matchup that would seem to be easier to accomplish. Both are in the USA and many feel that Archer is still better than Shane. Shane beats Archer for the cheese and I dont see any other Americans stepping up. Maybe Rodney but I dont know. Rodney or Archer is the most feasible for there to be action imo.

I also picked Archer. At DCC a few years ago Johnny was giving Shane the 7 ball playing 9 ball and I think they broke even. Someone may correct me if I am wrong.

I think we need to see if there has been an unofficial changing of the guard for the U.S. Johnny has been the U.S. player to beat for the last decade. Now lets see if Shane is THAT person. And since the TAR action matches have replaced time then I guess only TAR will tell.:D

Archer would be a great match, as would Bustamante, but I would think the next mostly likely guy to take a shot would be Alex Pagulayan. Where's he been during all of this?
