Who would you replace from the Mosconi Team?

I would replace Earl with John Schmidt and Rodney Morris with Chris Bartrum.
All the other players are pretty solid, IMO, these two guys are the weakest links.

Chris in no way plays better than Rodney and never has.

I'm a big fan of Earl and love to watch him play. BUT, if we're strictly talking about trying to win the cup then I would replace Earl. He's just to unstable.

I think tournaments like these quickly reveal who the top players are and some of the replacement names tossed around here lately would be exposed pretty readily. This is a big stage and with short races any mistakes will be punished severely. Even though Earl is unstable he usually comes to play for the Mosconi Cup and his big match experience is invaluable.

I agree with most of your comments about Earl. I think he IS a great moral booster, at least until he starts to show his dark side. But to his credit, I think he usually behaves a little better when playing on the Mosconi team, as opposed to when he is in some other tournament alone. Just my observations.

thing is with earl is even the most determined earl-basher can't say he hasn't always delievred the goods in the mosconi cup. thats the bottom line. ironic really that somebody as unstable as him can also be the most relied upon to get a result.

Rodney will beat Shannon Daulton or Chris Bartrum in his sleep!
While I will agree that Rodney is favored to beat Chris Bartrum...he definitely doesn't have to beat Shannon...and I'm a big fan of both! I would say at 9 or 10-ball it's a pretty close match assuming Shannon has been playing at all. It would definitely make for a great action challenge match! ;)

Agreed, Rodney is the fo shizzel dizzel. ("THE SH*T"), GOOD, GRAND, GREAT, yadda yadda yadda blah, blah, blah, for those lingually challenged..!

I think you should support the current team. This discussion should happen after we win the current Cup!!

I would replace:

Earl to Reyes
Morris to Wu
Archer to Bustamante
Deuel to Alex
SVB he is a solid guy so he stays......
and now that's a dream team lol...

im just joking guys..i think the US team are solid team..alot of experience...goodluck to both team :)

You might get a little action on the Rodney, Shannon match. Rodney has no chance what so ever!!!!!!!!

Rodney is a great shot maker, but his cue ball control is not great. His pattern play is horrible in comparison to top level players. Way overrated in my book, but he is a great guy as far as a person.

Hard to tell

Hohmann for Drago

Anyway, I'd rather have USA vs Germany or at least more Germans.

Souquet, Hohmann, Ortmann, Engert and Feijen (who has played in German premier league for some time including a 150 and out in the first visit)

This years lineup is pretty good apart from Drago (one for the show, huh?) where as in the past years it was quite a bad lineup with guys like Steve Davis, Marcus Chamat, Steve Knight

My Team America would have been Van Boening, Archer, Deuel, Nevel, Ulrich.
