Who would you say is the most entertaining action players?

...still not sure how my post got twisted like that. I said nothing wrong.

My wife hasn't smoked since 2001. It's fair to say she quit, but of course someday, she might smoke again.

But whatever. I'm not to worried about what JAM, ah, I mean keith thinks of me.

Back to the subject, who else is entertaining?

Would Dr. Cue count? I know its his job to be entertaining but no matter whether he is teaching or a demo in front of a large group (Vegas) artistic or regular playing. Tom has a definite flare and enthusiasm no matter what he is doing in front of a crowd. Very approachable and friendly.

Alex and Earl.
Alex, even if he is under pressure, I've seen him crack a smile or joke. Very animated player at times.
Earl, you just never know what might come out of his mouth.

I'd love to see Scotty T play.

Swiffer. From the little I've seen of him, I find him to be rather droll and boorish in his show off kind of way.

Jay H. Put him in a ring game with all his old buds and I bet he can
keep the crowd going with the best of them.

i also saw george not play for a long time and get
beat by lil john even.

RB,
So it appears that you are basing your opinion on what you saw...and discounting the possibility that anything could happen without you knowing it, and discounting the possibility that sometimes a player can play great without practicing. Perhaps you have not seen as much as you think (and perhaps I didn't really see what I saw...perplexing...). Anyway, it was stated as my opinion...and I haven't changed it yet.

When Keith comes out of retirement, he will easily find some backers; despite your opinion. I'm sure if he loses you will feel right; and if he wins you will still feel right (and find some excuse like Shane's backers did when Earl trounced him on the big table). I would probably do the same:).

just ask george
if he played every day how much better would he play?

I know a guy who can getup and run 14 (one pocket) but won't play a guy he can give the 7 in nine ball, if he isn't in constant action. There must be something more to it. I'll have to ask him and get back with y'all.

I've seen a B player run over a top pro in a tournament. It meant nothing. Things happen. I'm sure chris has seen a thing or two. Possibly more than you.

C-man,
Errrrrr.....it is also possible Keith and George have seen more than Chris...just saying....

RB,
Have asked him many times. For years the answer was it would only take a few hours/days to get back his game. The last couple of years he will grudgingly admit that practice would help his game. Not sure if it is his age/skill that is different or just the attitude. Keith could say.

I recall that when you guys matched up, it was reported that you didn't want any more once he started to warm up (?maybe the second day?). That doesn't seem like a long time to regain some form. If he could play anywhere near your speed after just a couple of sets, that's pretty stellar in my view.

Recall that I did say in my original post that ALL players would be better if they played every day...would be pretty hard to argue against that point.:)

your facts are off.
he said give him a few weeks we could play for 20 k.
i have asked to play and we have no game.
i dont care who the player is if they dont play for years
they will not be close to their speed in a few days.

There's a part of me that wants to taunt Keith McCready into making a comeback, simply because it would be good for pool. I'm not sure if it would be good for Keith.

Cleary didn't take any swipes at Keith imo in this thread, although he took a mini-swipe at JAM in one of his last posts but that was like a return serve in pool.

Cleary is good people in my opinion and doesn't go out of his way to denigrate or talk down to anyone.

While I like JAM a lot and think Keith is the shiznit.

I think Cleary's posts about Keith are dead on: Currently, Keith is not a factor in today's pool.

It is also likely that Keith pool-playing days are behind him, especially his top days, although it would THRILL most of us, including Cleary, to see Keith back in top form.

Keith has the opportunity to prove everyone wrong and we all would love to see him back in top form.

Who knows with his long hiatus from pool, Keith might return in better health and better form than before?

CB,
Whether you are right or wrong, its good to see you put your money where your mouth is. Kudos to you. If Keith comes out, I'll put my money on him.

Keith put in the hours and time to be considered one of the best ever. Being one of the best costs a lot and he paid his dues. i can't speak for Kieth, but i doubt hs sees it as worth his time. he would have to want it and want it badly.
IMO he does what is best for he and Jenn, and I greatly respect that. She has meant the world to him and honestly may have saved his life. But that is a little personal!
Around 91 we were at the Sands, mcdermott Maters Tournament and Kieth and I were to play at 3 AM.
We began and getting every roll in the world I was up like 7-2 going to 11.
His shot came up and Kieth had fallen asleep on the Bleachers. He was O_U_T! I was honestly hoping for a forfeit or something.
Joon Mcchesney came over and finally after shaking him and yelling, ( John was in a bad mood) Kieth came around and looked around and then shouted,"Good God, can a gut get some sleep around here"?
The whole place cracked up.
he got up and looked over the shot. He was hooked and then cranked up, jacked up and fired the bell in and got out. IT was an amazing shot.
We ended up hill-hill with me getting very lucky,,,again.
I wont forget that episode as long as I live.
