This is probably a dumb question, but I was just wondering what stacked leather wrap is. Why is it called stacked, and what is the difference between it and regular leather wrap? Just the texture?
desert1pocket said:A regular leather wrap is a large rectangular piece that has one seam. A Stacked leather wrap is a long thin strip of leather wrapped around and around the cue, "stacking" on top of itself, in the same manner that a linen wrap is applied.

With the power of AZ we should be able to make everyone switch.
'shoelace wrap'...pass it on!

TATE said:Well, before Tiger invented their version, the term stacked leather referred to a technique where leather washers are cut from very thick hides, then stacked one upon the other on the handle, glued together then burnished. Imagine leather donuts. These fit on the handle tightly. Joe Porper was known for this. Problem is this technique could only be used in making a new cue, and any other jobs requied the handle to be cut. Tiger came along and improved the process, making it easier to apply and replace. This is, by far, my favorite wrap.
