I was 12 in 1964 as well.
Made about 8-bucks a day caddying at a country club in the Denver area, which was a lot of money to a 12-year old in 1964.
I remember walking in to the Dolly Madison after work, with a fistful of one's  to get wasted on Dr. Pepper...15-cents a bottle
$8.00 a day is way more than I'm making now.
My goal is to sell a cue a week for 100-weeks until I qualify for SS, I've got 80 to go, so I really need AZ Billiards.
Like the OP said, "the forum is what it is", but I can assure you it is far better and less boring than other forums, including the big gun forums.
To my AZ friends that I promised to put in my will, don't worry, I'll still have about 50-cues available when I croak.
It's not just pool it's a new generation of people raised without morals.
This is a different day and age of very little respect and you add the fact they can hide behind a keyboard and not face serious consequence. People may say that JAM provoked Juice or whatever, but where I'm from you don't speak to a woman that way. Can your mom provoke you to call her that....I doubt it. That's like TeddyDog there is no doubt in my mind if the right person recognizes him at the poolroom he will get punched in the face and well deserved. People get away with too much on the Internet . It may be a great thing but it has ruined the morality in this country IMO
Its the day and age not just AZ or the poolroom
Looping double could be tough. I'd stand there on the first tee, watch one hit it left and the other to the right, and just slump knowing it was gonna be a loooooong day.
Kevin
Friday night we would all tell our parents we were sleeping over at someones house, stay up all night riding our Schwinn Stingrays around, hit the golf course around 3 or 4 am, break into the golf cart shack and snack bar, then terrorize the course.
Caddy all day on Saturday, and do it again on Sunday.
At 60, I have one all-nighter and I'm down for 3-days..
Like last Thursday night, no I won't get into that...![]()
Monkey bars and banana seat?
By "all nighter" do you mean stay up til midnite ?
Yes, monkey bars and a banana seat.
I had a black sparkle tuck & roll banana seat.
Midnight, are you kidding?
I won't get into the gory details, but I'm dating again, so you guys do not want to mess with me right now.
I'm playing Friday night APA at the Holiday Bowl (where we used to go looking for fights in the 60's).
Great place to meet women.
I was talking to our new SL2 and said "baby you look like a 4 to me", and of course I got her phone number.
Revitalized APA player.
Free Tate!!

Some people take this forum way to serious. When people take the forum too serious, they need to take a step back and remember what it is. I've met many from this forum in person... but maybe less than 20 I talk to in my daily life. Give or take. But for the most part, most of these fools could just be talking bots for all I know.
Our PR department at work has had its fair share of melt downs via twitter from our athletes, responding to clowns and getting themselves in trouble. They explained to us the 90-9-1 rule which seems to apply to AZ billiards as well. 90% of people az, don't even post or rarely post. 9% are good posters that have something to contribute and 1% are trolls trying to stir the pot. But the 1% can make up a lot of posts and make it look like it's more than it actually is... but it's just a few clowns.
Hmmm, perhaps it was morality that ruined the internet????? In fact, I thought that Al Gore invented the internet in order to more effectively distribute porn...![]()

Just watch some of the youtube videos taken from people's phones of the DCC the past couple of years. Watch with an open mind and you will think - this is pool?
As long as people make excuses for it like they have in this thread, it will continue to fester and grow, like rats in the ghetto.
I like this post. I feel much the same way. Pool will never be a perfect world. Even if there was more money in it for pros there would still be a reason for some to complain. That's human nature. To me AZ is like a big poolroom with all kinds of characters in it, some I like and respect and some not so much. No big deal, I've been handling that crowd all my life. I've got four poolrooms under my belt and I've met every kind of person, from the total crazies to the most wonderful folks ever. I'm willing to take the good with the bad.
