In the short-term, it is very hard to imagine Euro-tour having a place at the big boys table of professional pool. Prize money has increased, but Filler won just over $6,000 for winning last weekend's Italian Open after beating a field of 256. By my reckoning, only the top eight more than covered expenses, so whether Euro-tour fields will be super-elite going forward is still to be determined in a pool world that now offers the players numerous big paydays.

Still, Predator's presence is very good news for the Euro-tour, and if prize money grows over time, Euro-tour, which has given us countless great fields over the years, can become an increasingly important tour.

I just don't see Euro-tour as a significant player in pool's competitive landscape quite 6
Wow.... There's a bar table event here next mth 128 player field where 1st + calcutta is 6K.

Here's a golf comparative....PGA/LIV

Balionis explained: “I think a lot of the players' tunes have shifted when you talk about LIV. If you would’ve asked players a number of years ago, Rory McIlroy being the spokesperson for this, there was a good versus evil storyline happening here.

“I think a lot of players started to realise that both entities are going to have to find a way to work together if we are going to keep the quality of the game where it should be.”

Little bit of news on this front.

German courts rule that players banned by WPA for playing in Hanoi are not banned from German National Competitions.

Are German National Competitions sanctioned by or have anything to do with the WPA?

Yes. Because WPA sanctions are followed by EPBF. European countries National Billiard organisations then follow EBPF... So WPA banned player cannot play any local tourneys that follow that chain up...

I heared, that the European Open in Bosnia is "ratified" by the WPA, which is a new term they use beside "sanctioned".
So all Players can enter the European Open MR event. On the other hand the WPA ban of the players, who played in the Hanoi open is still maintained.

On a side note Austria has nominated Ouschan, He and Lechner for the mens division and Jasmin for the womens division in this years European Championship, which hasn't happend in years that all four Austrian pros will play in the European Championship.

The WPA coined a new word for sanction.
Kinda, yeah. I think it lets the WNT stay independent with its own PRA, drug testing program, program of player eligibility, etc. Lets them be officially recognized without being under the thumb.

Looks like everyone who was playing on the WPA side since Hanoi is back. Filler, Kazakis, Albin Ouschan, Lechner, He ...

Full 256 player field, though I am sure there will be no-shows. Lots of Balkins players.

No Pia Filler.

Just two Pinoys, Chua and Biado.

No Gorst or Sklyer. Gorst apparently getting some back/body treatment for persistent issues.

EDIT 3/6/25: Evidently Pecelj, from Serbia, has not been invited. Still could be one of the final two picks. We'll see.

The guy I missed? FSR. I was expecting him and Ko Pin Yi to be the final two picks, but FSR is already in. He won the PLP in 2023.

Interesting Premier League Lineup. Lots of heavy hitters missing, lots of up and comers added. These are the 14 of the 16 invited so far.

Got to figure at least one Ko brother.

Francisco Sanchez Ruiz
Jayson Shaw
Shane Van Boening
Eklent Kaci
Aloysius Yapp
Johann Chua
Duong Quoc Hoang
An Nhiet
Robbie Capito
Moritz Neuhausen
Pijus Labutis
Edward Koyongian
Tyler Styer
Sanjin Pehlivanovic
