a couple of talking heads that know no more than anyone else.
no massive surprises in the QF lineup with kaci, svb, fsr, kazakis in there. januarta is the biggest surprise of course. makkonen has been in a final i think, and atencio made semifinal here last year

Manas threw that match away. Leading 9-5 and he got a little careless, making some bad decisions. July9x called that one right.
That said it took a top ten player to beat him hill-hill. We'll hear from Manas again. He's only going to get even better with maturity and experience.

If you listened to the commentators on the Svb/filler match , one would have thought it was Texas state against the crimson tide. And Svb wasn’t even in the same league as filler. Upset of the year according to them….

what a ridiculous statement by them- Shane may have been a slight underdog in his match up with Filler, but he is definitely very capable of winning- as he showed
lukas should forfeit his points if he doesn't recover..
No way does he turn down a $20k pay day.
He will turn up to Mosconi.
Could be an awkward conversation if Matchroom reject him for not being healthy.

It's going to be a very sad day for me and pool in general when SVB loses his top gear. But today is not that day.
Januarta is no surprise. He'll be in many more QFs, SFs, and finals
It will be many years before he loses his top gear, IMO. The issue will be how often he finds it.
Look at Earl. He had a great run to the finals of Turning Stone a few years ago (lost a close final to Shane). Played like Prime Earl.
But it was gone the next week. I find that for many of the old pros, they can still have flashbacks but it doesn’t last - maybe it lasts a few rounds.
Earl especially. He just runs out of steam. First 5-10 racks, as of a couple years ago, he would look like vintage Earl. Then the wheels would come off.
