JAM,
Well said. Very nice message.
I like 80% of your content..
It's that 20% that's a doozie..
I posted this in another thread but let me say it again.
I think we have reached a turning point in internet decorum. And you (Jam) are riding that curve.
In a perverse sort of way this whole topic misses the point. It has been said several times in different ways that if it is too hot in the kitchen then leave. The modern internet is a rough and tumble place and a thick skin is required.
I disagree with this apparent consensus opinion and think that tact and common courtesy should be the order of the day. But, like everyone else I have to live with the majority opinion.
OK – so along comes an intelligent poster who has learned to use the modern rules of the road to engage in a dialog. She is smart enough to use his own inadequacies against him and perhaps lead him down a road wherein he gets himself banned because of his limited skills and lack of emotional control. The coolest part is that it was not her intention. He self destructed all by himself.
Way to go and as the saying goes – you rule girl. Brains will out in the end.
BTW with regard to all the comments about "its just words." Well, yes that is true. Say any word five times and it sounds stupid. It is not the word, it is the intent behind the word. And I have had that discussion with God knows how many 15 year old children who often choose to be literal.
Bingo! Yahtzee!
We have a winner!
Most of the time you are great Jenny. I don't have a dog in this fight between yo and Juice, I hope you both stay. You were way out of line in that thread though and were the reason it got as bad as it did. Don't know how anyone with common sense can't see that
I'm not even sure what to title this thread; thus, "Words" is the only word I can think of at the time of this writing. I write this with a heavy heart.
I was going to wait until tomorrow morning to create this thread, giving myself a day to think about what to say overnight, being able to pick my words gingerly so as not to offend anyone, but I kind of wanted to get this over with so I don't have to face it in the morning.
I woke up today at 4 a.m., which is when I begin my workday, and I immediately noticed that I had four PMs in my mailbox. It was then, reading several of them, that I discovered that Juice had been banned. Thereafter, I read the multiple threads on the Main Forum about the banning and the outrage that it had caused to members, as well as how my participation on some threads have been offensive, even detrimental to the climate of the environment.
I would be lying if I said that none of what I have read today bothered me, because I've been deeply saddened by it all day long. In fact, it is hurting me pretty badly. I had no idea that I was disliked this much. I know this is not the sentiment of the entire forum, but it seems as if it is the sentiment of the majority of this forum.
I had not asked for Juice to be banned, FWIW. I have read some things written about me today that are not true, but I won't hash them out in this thread. That's not the purpose of me writing here tonight.
I apologize for posting words that have been abrasive to AzBilliards members. I also am sorry for any thread drifts I created in the past. I had only meant to add levity to some threads by adding links to videos, music, and pictures. I was not aware that it was disruptive to the flow of things. I never meant for that to happen.
I hope the moderators allow Juice to return. It would bring good cheer to many who value his forum friendship.
Thank you for reading my thread. I'm not sure what else I can say, but I didn't want to just stop posting and not say something after this recent turn of events. I just wanted to express my thoughts.
I can't think of anything witty to close with, other than to say may all your balls fall in the pockets. Thanks for reading my words.
Oh, and I hope Team USA brings home the Mosconi Cup!
I edited my post. You replied too fast. I toned it down to be nice..
I called his banishment first in that thread. He deserved it.No woman should be called that. There is nothing you could do to warrant this treatment.Forget about it.
I have a question for you have. Have you ever been in a pool room before or is you pool.table in church cuz im pretty sure they call females worsethings than t
What juice said and i personal know juice you really gotta bother him for awhile for him to get anger so should he of i dont know should YOU get in the middle of somtjing that has absolutly nothing to do to you no you shouldnt so......in the end it is what it is he should be banned for calling names they do it all over this site so who care get over and if she doesnt want juoce banned he shouldnt be
I started playing in a bar where alcoholics would wince at the strength of their drinks. Being abusive with that word would probably get the same reaction.
If you don't know the difference between when certain vulgarity is and isn't appropriate, you're never going to understand any answer you're given.
"should YOU get in the middle of somtjing that has absolutly nothing to do to you no you shouldnt so......" So practice what you preach before you start tossing around lines like that.
I'll say it again.. bunch of grown men acting like a bunch of little kids over a pool forum. Go out to the bar, order a drink and try explaining this to the person sitting on the next stool and see how they react..
And it really doesn't matter what you, JAM, myself or anybody else thinks of the banning. This isn't the street corner and people actually spend time working to have this site available to others. You don't like it, go ***** about it at the pool hall.
I also feel it was wrong for Juice's ban to be made permanent just because his friends on here were sticking up for him.
Damn, am I gonna have to come out of retirement for an argument with JAM? Maybe we could have one of those "legends of internet fights" pay per read.
