Just people trying to do their industry. Anybody playing good?

Shaw, Lee Van, Kaci. These 3
Shaw has been playing lights out after his hill hill loss to Hybler on winners side
Lee Van took down some big names.
But tomorrow is another day and a bad hair day can crash their good form

It works in Tennis why not in pool. You want Joker and Nadal to play each other in the first match of a tournament. It's fucking madness.

I keep hearing that call pocket 10 ball does not allow for 2 way shots like 9 ball and I can't figure out why. I am thinking that a 2 way shot is when you try to pocket a difficult object ball and try to hide the cue ball or put it in a difficult place on the table so if you miss your opponent will have a tough time pocketing the missed ball. I cannot understand why this can't be done in 10 ball. What I am missing? I don't believe 2 way is trying to pocket 2 object balls in the same stroke or is that what they are talking about?

One sure way to enhance the stream is to ditch George Teyechea from the broadcast booth....his continuous drivel is extremely annoying and his shot predictions/analysis is almost always wrong. It is agonizingly obvious that he is trying to impress the viewers with his "pool knowledge" and he falls painfully short of accomplishing his task of personal aggrandizement...!!!

Pehlivanovic, who won the gold at the European 10-ball Championship just weeks ago, is not to be overlooked. He's undefeated this week and so is the guy who won silver, Szewczyck. Sanchez Ruiz and Darren Appleton are also playing well, as is Maciol, who has already beaten Woodward, Babica and SVB.

Four of the favorites left have drawn each other in the next round, as Van Corteza plays Kaci and Sanchez-Ruiz plays Shaw. We're starting to build to a climax.

Nice thing about this event is that the last 16 all get a good payday ($3,750 or better), which is in contrast to the usual in ten ball, where, as Darren Appleton has noted with exasperation, only the top 8 more than cover expenses in the CSI/Predator events.

I hate it for Alex but he got good and well thumped by Kaci. Not sure spotting Kaci 2 games made much of a difference given the final score line for that match.
If you've ever been to The Rio, the guest room towers are a loooong ways away from the convention/ballroom area of the property. Having to run that distance to make your match will take some time to calm down and get your breathing under control and Alex isn't a young man anymore. Compound this with a two game deficit against a world class player and it's all tough to fade, even for The Lion. If what Alex says is true, it sucks they weren't more organized in letting the players know well in advance what time the matches were. Especially for a potential $60K payday on the line.

What I don't understand Stu, is why the need for a Stage 1 and Stage 2? Why can't they just keep playing the double elimination format for the duration of the event? That way, there is no discrepancy on a reseed or redraw. Just keep playing.

You miss the point of seedings/ seeded draw that most major sports have been using for decades. (a) Seeded draw reward performance giving slight advantage to the better performer. So everyone will not treated equal because it is performance based. If you perform you will be rewarded and "assigned" to play poor performer. (b) Seeded draw tries to enable better performers to go deeper into the tournament so that better performers play each other in late stages. :D
No I do understand the way you guys feel about why seeding is a good thing. I don't necessarily agree with that. I played in a qualifying trnmnt 16 people single elimination with top 2 moving on to a regional. I was the top seed and had won 3 previous qualifiers. The tournament director really liked the 2 seed and wanted them to have the chance to play the regional. So I got all the better players on my half of the bracket , the 2 seed had none. Now that was supposed to be randomly drawn . After I won and the 2 seed took second the director told me he did want to insure the 2 seed made it and he thought I could fend for myself.

I think the whole dbl to single elimination idea stinks. If you are going to do it where all restart equally, it has to be random draw.

The way seeding should work using a 16 player field as an example:

Seed 1 vs. Seed 16
Seed 2 vs. Seed 15
Seed 3 vs. Seed 14
Seed 4 vs. Seed 13
Seed 5 vs. Seed 12
Seed 6 vs. Seed 11
Seed 7 vs. Seed 10
Seed 8 vs. Seed 9

I knew who he was playing and where he was playing well in advance. How could he NOT have known? Seems like he really dogged it this time.

No idea. Just going by what he posted on social media. If he dogged it, he dogged it.
