Hi all,

Many of you have been asking where are the World 14.1 videos. Well, here's the first one, and it's a barn-burner!

Round of 16: Thorsten Hohmann vs. Allen Hopkins

Enjoy,

Excellent Match

I would like to see more 14.1 videos

More cameras would help and less zooming in and out. That got better as the match progressed. Thanks for putting up the video Pro Pool

Thanks Jorge, I have been patiently waiting for these matches and it is greatly appreciated.

THanks.

Very Nice...

Thanks,

That was a joy to watch. It was amazing how they worked the rack. I loved the 14 ball.

ill spend my week watching the matches over and over.

Nothin but Praise for you... Thank you so much for all you provide to the fans. Very nice job!

Peace, JBK

I remember watching this match in person. There was a point in Thorsten's run where it seemed like he stuck to the rack in the middle of his run w/ no shot and then made something miraculous. I couldn't FFW in this match to that point, and I don't have time now to watch it through.

This was an exciting match! Thanks!

I saw the video clip last night. I think the shot your referring to was at the halfway point of the video.

Thorsten's cue ball was stuck on the top of the rack. Fortunately for him, the lower corner ball of the rack was wired to go in. Despite the CB being stuck to the rack, Thorsten was able to smash the rack from the top and make the corner ball go in.

I don't recall the exact layout of the balls but the diagram below should give you an idea of what Thorsten did. It was an amazing shot as I replayed the video clip several times.

This is a testament to Thorsten's playing ability... he ran that 136 - and throughout it all he only had maybe one good result off the break ball - the balls seems to cluster up on him the entire time. One time he ALMOST got stuck in the pack, one time he did stick to the stack. All in all, he is a great player and he was able to dissect the racks perfectly despite having problems with the break shot during the entire match.

BTW, is it just my eyes going bad, or did the cloth look a little lumpy near the side pockets?

Thanks for the layout. I was sitting 10' away and STILL couldn't see what Thorsten did. I know Allen was sick to his stomach from this shot - after the match he mentioned it could have been a different outcome if that ball didn't freeze up.

I was impressed with how aggressively Thorsten played his primary break shots. With Thorsten's aggressive breaking style, having the balls spread out more made his runs look easier.
