World Cup of Pool

Ko Pin-Yi pocketed the 8 ball on the break and 5 balls made it past the headstring for a legal break.
The 3 ball is blocking the pocket for the 1 but Chang calmly sank the combination. The rest was easy
as ABC and the Taiwanese are nipping on the Filipinos heels now. It's 7 games to 4 Philippines but the
Taiwanese are still breaking..

Chang pocketed the 2 on the break but the 7 is blocking the 1 ball's path. Ko Pin-Yi shot
the combination like it was nothing. Another b&r by the Taiwanese to cut the Pinoys' lead to 2...

Taipei makes a ball on the break and then Ko handles a one-seven combo skillfully, and the runout is completed for 7-5 behind.

So far, Lee Van's scratch on the break has cost three racks (and counting). It's getting interesting.

Ko Pin-Yi pocketed 3 balls on the break and was rewarded with an easy layout. Could be another b&r for the Taiwanese...

... and the lead is down to 1. Another b&r by the Taiwanese to bring them closer, 7 games to 6 Philippines

Two balls went down on Chang's break and the balls are all spread out. We could have a tied match in a few...

Now 7-6 after Taipei breaks and runs another. What a match! Let's see if they can come back from 7-2.

After Ko's scratch on the break, an exquisite Orcullo safety locks up Taipei very tight in rack 15. The result is ball in hand and Team Philippines runs out to reach the hill at 8-7.

Great run out by Team Philippines to win the match!
Lee Vann makes a delicious cut shot on the one and Dennis must play a snaking position shot from the three to the four! This was a brilliant match between two GREAT teams.

In a tension filled 16th rack, Dennis hollered out a yell, "Hindi na sasablay yan!!!", meaning, I can't possibly miss this, after making the 9 to douse the hopes of the Taiwanese of a first ever finals appearance in this tournament. What a great match!

Great match. Final match Philippines vs Holland starts at 1:00 eastern or 10:00 am pacific. Another 1 and 1/2 hours more to go.
