World Cup

That was a clinic put on by the Chinese Taipei team, drubbing Japan easily, 8 games to 2. Up next will be Philippines A (Efren & Django) versus Indonesia...

Indonesia looked good. Philippines A looked bad, especially Efren. Very surprising.

Question about the stream last night:

After the USA/Sweden match the stream went to some completely other non-sports thing. I got tired of waiting for the next match and went to bed. Was there an extended wait between matches and what were you seeing on the stream after JA and Rodney? I would have expected they would have stayed on site with the commentary and the next match to begin right away but this isn't what happened on my end. I'd like to know what to expect tonight.

Thanks.

At one break between matches there was an informercial on, but I don't remember if that was the specific time.

Another thought just occurred to me. USA/Sweden was the last round 1 match and Taiwan/Japan was the first round 2 match. I think this is a ticketed event so they may have had to clear the seats from one match and seat ticket holders for the next match.

Thanks, that's good to know. It sounds like with the matches being between rounds they ran something else while they cleared the arena. At least I didn't miss anything. Being on the West Coast it was getting late so I would have hit the rack anyway even had I known they would be starting up again in a half hour or so.

On another note this is weird. I just went to Hayag for the ducks of it and they were running an episode of ABC's Modern Family. Now if we could only get ABC over here to run pool live we'd be in business.

Both Team Holland (Neils) and Team Finland (Mika) looked good yesterday, but Team Taiwan looked unbeatable, if they can keep it up. Down to sixteen teams now (actually only fourteen), so things are getting interesting. The Gold Crown V has. 4.25" pockets so it plays pretty tough and will only get tougher. You must hit the pocket cleanly on a well struck ball. Slow rolling balls can slide in though.

What USA time do the matches start tonight?
Thanks!

Here are the matches scheduled for DAY 4:

Friday, September 10

12pm - Germany vs Russia then England vs France

3pm - China vs Italy then Holland vs Finland

6pm - USA vs Poland then Philippines B vs Spain

I am not sure if they live stream the first 2 matches so if you tune in starting at 3 am US EST or 12 midnight US pacific, you will be able to see 4 matches in this order.

China vs. Italy
Holland vs Finland
USA vs Poland
Philippines B vs Spain

However, if they will show the first 2 matches (Germany vs Russia and England vs France) then it will start at 9 pm US pacific or 12 midnight US EST.

POLAND kicks USA out with a score of 8 to 6

Next match, PHILIPPINES B team (Orcullo/Gomez) vs SPAIN

Jay -

I watched most of the matches today and really missed your commentary. Bob di the best he could but over analyzed many shots and many times was flat out wrong in forecasting what the players would do when it was ovvious.

I realize that it is hard to guess all the options in a players mind, but many times his analysis was way off base even to a banger like me. Hope you'll be back on tomorrow and Sunday.
