World Pool Championships - Updates

Okay we make it for dinner. Pay up when we meet?

Ah haha! We actually met at the 2010 Derby ;) I don't think we'll ever meet up again though but it sounds like a good deal. It will be nice to know that if we ever do meet up again that I know I'll be getting a free meal out of it LOL! ;)

And who is this VINANCIO TANIO who just defeated Ralf Souquet 11 to 9? Tanio was trailing Souquet 0 to 4 in this race to 11 alternate break format at the start of the match
VINANCIO is one of a pack of Middle East based Filipinos. He learned his trade as a long time practice partners of Efren Reyes. He won though a qualifying for the World 8 Ball in Dubai and repeated the feat for this event. He is a monster player for the cash and decimated Jeff Da Luna on a couple of monetary occasions in the UAE.
His double qualifying feat was also matched by Oliver Medenillas and Raymund Faraon.
Raymund has the skill and temperament to win this title and a good image (not that it will be much good here in view of the coverage).

The matches for tomorrow for the last 32 have been posted already. First match will start at 3 am US EST.

Lots of exciting match-ups. It is a pity that we most probably not get a live stream for the rest of the tournament:

I am looking forward to the following match-ups:

MARLON MANALO vs SVB

F. BUSTAMANTE vs KO PIN YI

CS YANG vs N. VAN DEN BERG

I am also curious to see how the man who beat Ralf Souquest after trailing 0 to 4 in an alternate break format (VINANCION TANIO) plays:

VINANCIO TANIO vs HIJIKATA

Wow...I don't know who half of those guys are...It's hard to pick a winner from here, but I'm really pulling for Johnny Archer...It would be cool to see him take down another big one.

I'll tell you who wins from here....Yang VS Francisco in the final  Yang will eat him alive! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

That would be a bad ass final ;) Reminds me of the 2002 WPC where Yang plays Busta in a flawless match by both players.

Nobody wants to win this more than Busta and Yang, their due.

I saw that 2002 match live. By far the best match i have seen. They both threw 5 and 6 packs at each other. In a race to 13? was it. They each had about three innings. That was the year Yang was expected to win it all as was the year before. Im pulling for him this year unless Shane or Johnny play him.

Some of you might not have realized that you need to use Internet Explorer and have Silverlight (microsoft's answer to flash video) to watch the channel

http://www.dish2net.com/?channel=Al+Kass&stream=61

Right now there is a profile of a billiard academy in France.

I didn't know this and tried it in Firefox and Chrome with no success.

Edit: I downloaded the latest Silverlight and it now works in Firefox as well.

Time in Qatar: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=8

Matches start at 10am - 2hours from now.
