World Pool Masters-Live Streamed

Shane wins 8-6 over Morra. Neither player was sharp in this one.

In my opinion, the "break from the kitchen" rule, used in the Mosconi last year, almost completely neutralizes Shane's breaking advantage. He'll need to play better than this to snap off this title.

It's not the tables. It's just what happens with a 9 ball rack with the 1 on the spot, no break box, new cloth, and new clean balls, and a good rack.

Disagree, the loose pocket table is a big part of why making a ball on the break is so easy.

That is what I saw also... them pockets look easy. If I am not mistaken , no dry break in 14 racks

table broke like those China Open tables.

Did'nt Shane complain that China Open tables pockets were big? :D

Don't watch Morra that much but is his shotmaking usually this bad? I lost count of his misses on cuts down the rail . You can make so many such errors playing top tier player and expect to get away

No, his accuracy is usually pretty dialed in.

It's not a 4.5" pocket setup? Or is that "loose"? I thought all the diamond setups for that table were 4.5".

"close to 4 inches"

Closer to 5" than 4". I'd guess 4 5/8 but with new cloth, new balls, break from the kitchen, this is not much of a test for the best. As one poster noted, it is something like the setup at the recently China Open.

One of the commentators said the pockets were tight, and something about needing a hammer to get two balls unstuck out of a pocket, for what it's worth.

The eye test is what matters and it looks like everything close is going in. Of course, the table will play a little tighter as the week progresses and the cloth becomes more worn.

Yeah, everyone forgets that brand new Simonis plays pretty slick.

The pockets are obviously under 4.5", you can see how large the ball is on the great camera closeups as they roll in.

Since it's a Diamond I was assuming 4 5" pro cut pockets because they are standard. Of course the table conditions will make a table play easier (including on the break) which is what I was alluding to in my previous post.
