Great and time honored tournament...too bad Earl had to dishonor it on the first day!

Time for earl to get a new job, pool is getting to him! Sorry to say it is a job especially after 30 some years as a pro player i would be ready for change as well.

You would think he would be on best behavior since there was talk about him making the Mosconi team this year..... I heard there was a problem in Vegas that didn't sit well for his selection but I am not sure what happened in either instance and am just spreading gossip which may have ZERO credibility so don't take it to heart......

At 9:30 the stream goes down...it was good until then...funny comments on the chat but, very frustrating. Sure glad it was freee!!!!

hatch steamrolling along, it's 66-4 and he may get all the way out. He's a little careless sometimes
with his cue ball but is a great shotmaker. Twice johnny baited him with frozen-to-the-head-rail long shots (like after the break) and twice hatch just drilled them. Great fundamentals.

Not sure if Earl did anything dishonorable to this tournament. The night before, he ran like 200 plus on the feature table. I was told he was quite frustrated and disgusted with himself on his play and I think the table got to him and many others. I didn't see anyone play good on that table today. I couldn't believe the shots Johnny A., Tony S. and many other good players missed on this table and it was a bucket. The table mechanic told me that table was setup so bad is not even funny. I think the feature table is probably the worst playing table there. They really need to get the company to come back out and setup the right clothes on that table...and for crying out loud setup a better table.

There were two players who played well on the stream table. Darren Appleton ran 98 and out on Mike Davis and Corey Deuel's opening 92 against Earl was played with great technical elegance. Agree that the pockets were pretty loose.

It shows Wang Can vs Danny Barouty 11:30 am EST

I'm assuming Schmidt ending up winning his match. Anyone know for sure?

That's right when the stream went down, but they said Schmidt ended up losing that match. Neither guy played very well. I saw John get dead straight in on 2 breakshots and had to play safe. That's pretty unusual for him I'd say.

Just confirming Schmidt lost cuz these tools on the chat would just randomly say "yeah schmidt won"
and just try to troll people looking for a result. But the guy he played (jonni fulcher) jumped in as
commentator right afterwards and said he managed to beat JS.

Wang Can just showed he CAN vs Barouty (short race though)

Yeah, I hope the round-robin format allows enough room for Danny to stretch his legs a little. He's a much much better player than what was on display this morning. As well, in spite of the misses, Wang Can showed he's no stranger to 14.1. I don't think he's as good as Danny but sometimes, you only need to be good enough and he was this morning.
