In this wonderful world of "everything is ok...it;s all good no matter what" you have to respect my right to think that certain things are WRONG...

see that's the thing that most "progressive" folks forget.... the very argument that "we' must deal with their choices gives me the right to have my on....

that whole ideal is hogwash..... fact of the matter is that there is a right and a wrong......

that is why slang like gay is used and widespread.... believe it or not, most folks agree with me..........

Holy S&it!!!!

Nice commercials, that's crazy! I was just watching the video. Sitting here with my chihuahua, talking on the phone with the wife, patting my pizza so I don't get grease on our matching shirts! Holy S&it!!!

I think I've about had my say about this, and don't want to argue, but I'll say this one more thing: if you think victimless acts are "wrong" you've got more time on your hands to worry about such things than I do.

That settles it then, some people find your position wrong because certain things are just wrong.

Remember now, you guys are the one arguing about the subjectivity of the offensiveness of the word "gayest." And look, who being subjective now about someone's lifestyle.

Going back to my argument even if you don't agree with someone's lifestyle, I don't think it's right to maligned him if he didn't wronged you. There is nothing PC about this argument, it's just plain "good manners and right conduct."

I have yet to see someone shooting some stick with an apron on, but when I do, I'll ask them to bake me a cake.

Hall of Famer and author of the 99 Critical Shots of Pool, Ray Martin, wears a black apron while playing (at least, he DID, before he turned 100) :)

I know of one who wears those who is very well known in Hollywood Billiards and plays 1p very well.

And actually never thought of it as 'gay'. Fabio has been nothing but great to me.

As far as the politcal aspect of this 'gay' thing. I do find it offensive at times. Especially when i commute to work on a daily basis hearing these students using the term so freely. I do respect their freedom of speech, but i do have to take stands at comments like that.

I believe a poster(s) say that the slang term has changed thru history. And I think if that is the case, that in time, we try to change the term again so that it is not used the way i have taken it.

But i've learned not to let things get the best of me.

that's gotta be one of the wierdest things I've ever seen. What are those, paper mache?

I think he used them at the World Pool Championship a few years ago to everybody's amazement. He did it to elevate for a jump shot. He walked over to his case and started putting these things on. He jacks up and jumps the ball like it had wings - if I recall he easily made the shot and ran out. Very impressive. I think they're masking tape. I think he did it as a protest to the jump cue.

Some of the older (60s-80s) 3-cushion players at Chris's in Chicago wear aprons. Any one of them would be happy to bake you whenever you work up the nerve.
