Would a calculator be allowed at the table?

Sometimes I will have a long rail SID and the multiplication is something like 3.4 x 2.8 or something similar. If I really need to pocket the ball, it needs to be exact. It would be much easier if I just had a calculator to do the math quickly.

just wear a calculator watch.

There is a calculator at the table for every shot. It's between the shooter's ears. Fortunately or unfortunately depending your perspective, some work better than others.

I hope all my opponents feel the need for a calculator.....
....and a barometer as well.

Hell, I'll supply them.

Is it a league match, then check the rules. Otherwise, consult with your opponent for objections.

Just use your smart phone. That way you can also download and use the Bank Shot Calculator app, too...

If i was gonna let a guy use a calculator, i'd ask for 2 moe balls just to level things out a bit. everything in life is negotiable

It's simple, first convert the numbers to their fractional equivalents:

34/10 X 28/10

Then multiple 34 x 28 = 952 and 10 X 10 = 100. So you have 952 / 100. Now divide and you have 9.52... simple!

If your measurements are off, your calculations will be in error too. So you might need to bring a tape measure with you, in addition to the calculator. ;)

Beat me to the punch, though I would suggest lasers... much more precise.

If you blind your opponent with one of your measuring lasers, is it a foul and should you call it on yourself?

Pretty sure the rules don't allow any measuring devices except your stick, and the rack when playing 14.1. So even if the calculator is not explicitly stated in the rules (I did not check), then by their spirit, it would not be allowed. That would also be extended to any computerized simulation (such as smartphones).

You can also use them to crack the other players ferrule I've heard.
