would getting it cleaned up/refinished hurt the value of the scruggs?
You can go buy those cues again if you want. The Scruggs sneaky is of a limited number, and, barring damage, will only increase in value.
looks like a no-brainer.

but a sneaky is a sneaky

this is just not true.
that little 'ts' burned into the forearm means you can't just go to walmart and buy a new one. there are a limited number and no more are being made. this is the very definition of 'collectible'. plus, i would guess the ts outplays anything you can buy off the shelf new. having owned two of them, i might know.
i guess my (1 of 10) omega/dpk sneaky is just a sneaky too...you, sir, are uninformed.

When you say "increase in value" it's like you're equating it with a high end custom built by a name cuemaker. "Value" in cue collecting is reserved for the high end cues. Sneakys may RETAIN value, but value is not a reason for getting a sneaky. UNlike high end cues, sneakys are bought to play with, which is not always the case with high end cues.
