Seems like a few players need to go on a shot clock. It's not fair for the players waiting for the table do be standing around waiting an hour. Johnnyt

that is true. There were many matches that necessiated the shot clocks and they were used rightfully.
sarah Roussey beat maria Catalano from England in a hill-hill match with a very early combination shot. Catalano came all the way from England to play in qualifiers and qualified from a tournament at pro player Atwell`s place ( Borderline billiards ) in Bristol , Northern virginia/Tennessee.

I met AZ poster 'Girl won 1' and she is in good spirits:cool:

My-Hanh Lac plays out of northern Virginia. She went down to Florida recently for the Regional Tour playoff tournament.

My-Hanh won the Tiger Pool Tour points list last year which qualified her to play in the WPBA events this year. What a thrill to beat Jeanette and Jasmin back-to-back! Keep it going!

Andy

It's interesting how the first two paragraphs of the AZ main page mention that Jeanette and Jasmin were knocked out of the tournament but My-Hanh can't even get a mention for knocking them out. Keep it going girl. It looks like her winners side match against Chen was competitive as well.

Wow Jeanette and Jasmin jeanette knocked out by Lac! Jeanette was down 7 to1 or so but came roaring back to hill hill and rattled the 9 on a severe cut caused by bad shape and tight pockets.

Jeanette was rattling balls all tourney and even missed a straight in shot on the 9 in an earlier match. It seemed that if you fired into these tight pockets, that they will rattle leaving the ball there a sitting duck.

Lac is a whisp of a girl and seemed to have the speed of the table in her pocket and was making balls and not hanging them in the pocket. Jasmine lost in part to Lac because she also rattled too many balls with her aggresive play.

The worst example of rattling was a svelt Belinda who was on her way to beat Collado 8 to 5 or so, and rattled 4 - 9 balls in the pocked - sitting ducks. It was horrible to watch - just another day?

The tourney would have been different if they played on the usual WPBA bucket pocket tables of the past, double shimmed pockets that rattle are here - get used to it.

Lac played with ice in her veins - I wish her more good fortune and hope to see more of her.

Go Anna!

I remember seeing this young lady when she was just learning. What a natural talent!

Hi there! This is Anne Craig with the WPBA and I'm actually the person doing the bracket updates, and writing the highlights etc. I also wrote the summaries for azbilliards. Please understand I write these summaries at 2:00am and frankly after a 17 hour day, I'm a little punchy at that point so if I miss things, I apologize for that :) If you go to wpba.com, I do mentioned quite loudly that My-Hanh defeated both Jeanette & Jasmin and do my best to keep all of you up to date throughout the day. I update the highlights at least 2 to 3 times a day and the brackets will always be updated per round. Thanks to everyone for your support of the WPBA and of billiards!

Is this the same Jasmin that everyone on here talks about being so good. If I didn't know better and just happen to see all the post. I would say she was the best female player out. That being said she does play good. I have seen her play and she has a great stroke. I would just like to see her dominate on the womens tour before giving all the credit most have given her.

Do the frogs kiss back?

Keep up the good fight Anne... we all appreciate it. -It's good to have you on AZ!

Just to give Jasmin her due....she is playing after travelling from Taiwan...and she is pretty sick. She wasn't on her game at all. That being said....I take nothing away from My-Hahn. She played fantastically...came out firing and didn't let up even when Jasmin started to come back. A big congratulations to My-Hahn...who is lighting it up in San Diego this week!

Believe me Jasmin plays as good as anybody on the WPBA. Johnnyt

Allison Fisher is still the best plasyer opn the WPBA

Her break not withstanding, Allison Fisher is easily the best player on the WPBA, even if she doesn't win every match, her cueball control, fundamentals and overall shot selection and play is top notch. In fact, I would almost go so far as to say that her fundamentals are the best in billiards. The pockets looked loose to me so to the person earlier who said they were tight, I don't know what crack they were smoking, but overall there were some good matches yesterday. My two favorites would have had to be the Ga Young Kim/Gerda Hofstatter match, which I won 50 on betting with my Bro, and the Vivian Villareal/Allison Fisher match, it's just awesome to watch Allison stroke the cue.

edit: Looks like Jeanette lee will be playing Jasmin Ouschan in the 1 loss side.. that would be an interesting match to see.
I'd love to see that match. Both players have a lot of fire power......

Lac got another win (this time over Susan Williams, 9-3). She plays Julie Kelly for a spot in the final 16. I would love to see her get there and play maybe Allison or Karen.
