You know what really bugs me? If by some miracle an Englishman were to win this, it'd probably make the news there. Would that happen here? I'd like to think so but I doubt it.

joven comes up with a good safety....kawabata jumps at the one...and nearly makes it again! he got lucky and gives no shot for joven, although he left it near the pocket. joven kicks at it and misses! kawabata has a nice easy lay-out...and pulls up again for 8-9, in favor of joven bustamante.
i blinked and now joven is at the table again...i wonder what happened? anyway, he's four balls away from getting on the hill.....

it was a botched safety on the 1 ball by kawabata that sent joven back to the table.
meanwhile, boyes just made a nice break...he's on the hill, leading stepanov 10-4. he's excited and it's showing. pretty simple layout though...he's going on to the next round

kawabata won the last rack for 10-9. kawabata is now at the table, doesn't have a clear shot on the 1 after the break. comes up with a weak safety giving joven bustamante a chance....which he eagerly takes! he's taking it slowly, calming his nerves...he's five balls away and he know it...he's short on the 7ball though and he's disgusted with himself....but he makes it anyway and gets shape on the 8....two balls away...the crowd's getting antsy....he pockets the 8 powerfully...the 9 falls and he's through to the next round!
