Bogey,

i guess not.i guess i am an idiot concerning Searing cues since you are lol at me.how much is it worth Bogey?is it worth $6000?how much could it be worth to make my guess so far off,$8000?what do you think?i know i bought a 4 point Brazilian Rosewood half joint on Ebay last year for $1800 and sold it here for $2650.it didn't have veneers or an ivory joint, but does that triple the value?

i know the market value.
ive sold numerous ones in the past few months.
just telling you your price is way off.

so chris - what is the value of this cue?

based upon the last 4pt searing w/ veneers sold for under $3k just a few months ago, the only difference I see is the ivory joint....

I DON'T EVEN WANT THEM, BUT IF YOU CAN GET ME A 4 POINT 4 VENEER FOR UNDER 3K IN GOOD SHAPE, I'LL TAKE EM. HOW BOUT THIS, 4 POINT 4 VENEER, HALF JOINT LIKE NEW SOLD FOR 5500. IF I CAN GET MORE I CAN SELL THOSE AS WELL.

HAVE YOU BOUGHT AND SOLD ANY SEARINGS? I SAW A NON VENEERED 4 POINTER GO FOR OVER 4K, AND IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE IVORY FERRULES.

SINCE THIS WAS MADE PUBLIC, INSTEAD OF PRIVATE LIKE I REQUESTED.....

I'LL TAKE OFFERS OVER 6K. IT BELONGS TO A COLLECTOR/FRIEND OF MINE. HE DOESN'T NEED TO SELL IT, SO I'M NOT GOING BELOW 6K. I THINK I MIGHT EVEN GET 7 OUT OF IT IF I DO SOME TRADING.

I'M NOT LOOKING FOR A DISCUSSION OF THE PRICE, IT IS WHAT IT IS. IF YOU THINK IT'S TOO HIGH, OR IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE CUE, I'M SORRY. IT'S A COLLECTIBLE CUE, AND IS WORTH WHAT SOMEONE WILL PAY FOR IT. DO YOU EVER THINK GUS OR GEORGE THOUGHT THEIR CUES WOULD BE SO SOUGHT AFTER? DENNIS WON'T MAKE EVEN CLOSE TO AS MANY CUES AS THOSE GUYS DID.

SO IF IT LOOKS LIKE I'M RANTING. I'M NO TRYING TO BE A JERK, BUT I WAS TRYING TO STAY PRIVATE. I STILL HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT WHY PEOPLE FEEL THEY SHOULD GET INVOLVED IN OTHER SELLERS PRICING? I'VE NEVER MADE A POST SAYING SOMETHING WAS TOO HIGH, OR THAT I BOUGHT ONE FOR X PRICE 3 MONTHS AGO. IF I DON'T LIKE THE PRICE, I DON'T BUY. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE PRICE SOMEONE ASKS, THAN DON'T BUY THE CUE.

P.S. BOGEY HAS SOLD SEVERAL SEARINGS AS OF LATE, AND KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE BRINGING. HE'S NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP.

Goddamn, chill.... I was just asking what the value was, I wans't bashing or trying to get in the middle of your "sale"....

SO IF YOU LISTED A CUE FOR SALE FOR 3K, AND I POSTED AND SAID "I JUST BOUGHT ONE FOR 1K" THAT WOULDN'T BOTHER YOU?

I'D ALSO LIKE TO SEE THE ONE THAT SOLD FOR UNDER 3K? YOU HAVE A LINK.

P.S. LIKE I SAID, I'M NOT TRYING TO BE A JERK, BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE THOUGHT PROCESS INVOLVED IN SOME OF THE POSTS I READ.

i hear ya

nobody answer my question i guess no pro player like his cue lol..

If the prices being thrown around this thread are even remotely true, then it is more likely because no professional cueist can afford one!

you stated you would make it public if eveyone wanted and i saw some guys asking for guesses at the price and i guesses,it was an honest mistake and with no malintenet.i will forever refrain from posting my guesses to cue prices in anyone's thread but my own.sorry,Marcus.

How come some pro players still playing w/ Gus Szamboti (Kim Davenport) ...Barry Szamboti (Rodney Morris) even if the prices are sky high????? so im sure some other pro players wouldn't mind owning his cue ....right?..just my .02 :)

Forget it Marcus... You obviously didn't recall that I was only asking for what Chris thought the value of this cue was, not was you were asking....

I know there are blinders on anyways, so just forget about it.

Where was everybody when I had 12 Searings,6 Showmans, and 4 Haleys a couple of years ago.I couldn't give them away back then.Wish I had them now.

I seem to remember buying a Searing from you for $5,250 over a year ago. Is that considered not being able to give them away? Please don't make it sound like the interest in these cues started overnight.

My interest in the Searing cues started at a time when Dennis had a booth at VF during the 2005 show. I heard about his cue prior to the show but saw them in person for the first time at VF. What a set of cues he had on display and too bad none for sale (they were only examples of his work and each was sold). I had a few minutes with Dennis as he was entertaining other cue collectors and players - what a great conversation.

I did get on the list at that time and since that day I have searched for cues by Dennis. The search has been difficult since 2005 because of the high interest and the high values for his cues. I too remember the cues for sale by Dak21st and since they sold rather quickly I can only say the price was set right. They were great looking cues and glad to know they are in the best of care.

Now I will get back to searching for cues of interest...
Always interested in a hoppe Searing cue... :D
