Yang Vs Shane

I said that Corey would get beat before this match and I had said that he did not have the heart to take it down. I said that because Corey has not really been focused on pool in awhile. He would rather be golfing. Corey was also in a no win situaton in this match. If he won he was supposed to and now since he lost guys are saying he is finished. Hopefully this will wake him up and he will refocus on his game. I hope the people on here that are calling Shane the best in the world do not really think Corey bought his A game. If Corey gets back in dead stroke again I would take Corey in the rematch. They need to play on a tight table that is broken in so balls are not just sliding into pockets. In the rematch there would be a little more pressure on Shane this time since people are calling him the best now. It is alot easier when people think you are the underdog. Plus if Corey brings the HEAT it would be interesting to see how Shane plays if Corey is in dead stroke. Not saying that Shane could definitely not fade it but I would like to see. Shane got loose in the first match built a big lead and in my opinion the 30 games was not shocking once he had the 17 game lead the first day. Coreys heart has not been in pool anyway and then he is in a no win situation and then he gets way down playing on Shane home court and it is easy to see the result. I also think Corey thougt he could win without being in dead stroke. The next time they play I am sure Corey will have full respect for Shane and play him the way he would play Efren or Orcullo. Just my 2 cents. One thing is for sure that Earl playing Shane is a waste. They better charge the people by the day this time for watching because if Shane starts beating Earl like he did Corey, Earl will be out the door.

I think Ching Shin Yang would beat Shane at 9 ball if they played. Because Yang plays over seas, we here don't see him all that often, and so, out of sight is often out of mind. These 2 plus Corey Deuel are all great players and I suspect that the difference between them is smaller than most of us realize. One may win one day, and the other the next day.
The reason I'll go with Yang is he has more experience against the world's best players than Shane has had so far.

Yang is like Earl at his best, but with better break, true patience and cool head. For that reason, I'd say he's at least 60-70% favourite to win against anyone in a long 9ball or 10ball match.

No disrespect to Corey, because I think he is a great player, but if they play Ten Ball again, I will take all the action anyone wants. I seriously doubt this match will be happening anytime soon.

Earl at his BEST! Are you kidding me? Yang has a loooong way to go before he or anybody else can make that claim about his game. He is obviously a great player but come on, his accomplishments pale in comparison to Earl, geesh give me a break!! Marc

If you really believe Tang can beat Corey, you sir can bust me and basically all of Ohio. Since everybody thinks Shane is better than Corey, why dont you guys put him in playing Corey in 9 ball, same format. I didnt think so. So lets all just slow down in annointing Shane the best player in the world. He played great. He smashed Corey. If he beats Corey at 9 ball, then I will be the first to congratulate him and pay.

I believe Yang can beat Corey too. Does that mean I can bust you and all of Ohio too?!?

no

Obviously you can NOT read. Tang with a T. Not Yang. And I seriously doubt that you have the capability to bust anyone.

Hey Billy-

You're right. I DID read that wrong. My bad.

Oh, and thanks for being an a$$ hole too. Remember Billy, never make AnY assumptions about individuals you know nothing about. I'm not saying I could bankroll anyone in any match. But I will say that you should NEVER assume that you know someone's financial position when you know nothing about them other than a screen-name.

Thanks Billy. Hlope you have a miserable day.

Regards,
-B

Billy, you and I both know that Tang hasn't played any serious pool in years. He is a poker player now, and has been for at least seven years. But if you make the game right, I will drag him out of retirement to play Corey. I'm talking games on the wire, say 30 games to a hundred. Just like Shane did to Corey, Corey can do the same thing to a "non playing" Tang. And you guys can win all your loot back.

No hurry, we can set this up for anytime you like, maybe at Derby City.

yes sir .............

Thanks James, it's always of interest to know the angles from which some of the opinons of players' abilities is coming. That was all, no other reason for the question:)

is that it?

Are you sure thats all the spot he needs? Maybe Shane can break for him too. I think Ill pass on that. as a matter of fact, I think you are now buying the steak in Louisville for trying to rob me. Shane can play Corey 9 ball. Same game in Louisville as South Dakota. Same bet, or more, whichever you and Fatboy prefer. Its funny how short people's memory is. Corey hijacked Shane giving him the 8 ball less Corey some 9 ball, I know I would.

In many ways I agree with this. I heard Jimmy Wetch say Shane puts in 5 hours a day of play a day, every day, and that's his training regimen. If Corey is burnt out on pool, I wonder how much practice and play time he gets in every day.

Shane outshot Corey pretty much all the way around when it came to shooting straight, breaking, and safety play. Corey just wasn't super sharp like he usually is. His knowledge, obviously, was there. He made some spectacular shots, kisses, combo's etc - sensational stuff. But he wasn't 100% sharp and his brain told him to try stuff that he wasn't making.

Also, Corey needs to put in some work on the power break. He takes the cue back short and stiff. There's just no snap in his snap!

Even if Corey were in dead stroke, Shane's break is just too much in 10 ball. Now you give a dead stroke Corey a Sardo rack 9 ball, then it's a game. But right now he's giving up way too much on the break.

Okay Billy, you win. You're just too sharp for this old dog. I guess I have to buy. You know, everybody wanted Shane to play Corey some Ten Ball, a long match, and he did. Now everyone is asking for Shane to play Corey some 9-Ball, and you know what, he just might do that too. It's not out of the question.

You want me to break for him too? :) I want you to be happy with this game.

I'll tell you what, if I can rack for Corey (or both guys), I think we can play this match. That is the only reservation Shane has.

I am so sharp I can't remember the last time I won a dime. They can play 9 ball and rack their own. But it better be before Louisville. The way Shane is improving, Corey might need the 7 by then.
