are phil. pool players so wrong?? and yen so right

AZBilliards has no need to defend the presence of Yen Makabenta's column and we do not wish to become embroiled in the arguments of the Philippines which are truly a local matter. We do decry that this dispute seems to have taken on a rather juvenile streak with some resorting to name-calling and emotional appeals that defy logic. (He is taking advantage of the players because he is making money off of them! Well, frankly, why else do promoters run tournaments? If they lost money would they continue to provide the large prize funds the players need or wold tournaments simply go away?)
What cannot be denied is that Mr. Makabenta brought World Championship play to the Philippines when everyone else said that it was not possible. At the conclusion of the WTBC this year Mr. Makabenta will have paid out to pool players more than $1,000,000 in prize money in only three years.
Obviously, Mr. Makabenta has offended the players who belong to the BMPAP. Those players and principals are free to post their positions here in the pages of AZB. But mere name-calling and insulting will not be long tolerated. We present a forum for logical and respectful discussion, not childish tantrums.
AZB respects anyone who takes on the daunting task of running a major tournament and paying excellent prize amounts to the players we all love and respect.
mr. forsythe..let me be frank with you..i have no ax to grind here.. you start to sound like yen,,,you take one portion of a big story and build your case on it..if no one will rebutt you here --you will surely sound like you are so right..
sir..let me be clear with you..nobody that i know of have singlehandedly criticized him and against him just because he's making money off of this pool tours..i am all for that..i myself am a businessman and profit is what keepss our doors open..
noone is doing tantrums here..if anything it sounds like it's you tantruming in behalf of yen,,, i don't want to think that there is something going on between you and yen under the table..i do not know..you know!!!..i do not have ulterior motive in saying what i'm saying...
i think you are a very smart person,,, but it won't take a lot to see how unjust and corrupt yen has become..this man wants to be a dictator and he is power hungry... can't you hear the outcry of so many filipino pool players that has only pure intention and only wants what is best for pool..
to set the records straight..pool in the philippines did not become what it is today because of yen...yen was never a part of this..this yen man is a businessman/politician in nature that thrives in controlling other people and he thought just because he was a major player in bringing wpc in the phil. will give him right to impose and make pro players bow down and swallow the garbage he was trying to push on players mouth...
i believe that wpc would have been eventually held in manila sooner or later without bscp- mainly yen...it was due--players worldwide calling phil. the mecca of pool deserves to host wpc and more... u know that
if there is nothing"fundamentally wrong" with this man--let me ask you this..in the history of phil. pool --there was never an effort such as today of players and pro players binding together to fight this yen man...
and i hope you answer me mr. forsythe:
why is it all the pro players are up and arms against mainly this man???(take away yen from BSCP and things will get better)
is it because
these pool players, who never bonded in an organization like the one created now- BMPAP,
??-(the likes of reyes , bustamante) who evrybody knows only has pure intent for pool..
are so wrong and yen so right??
it's really hard for somebody that is embroiled in the politics and financial gains with yen can have "just" view of these matters...
i have no nothing to gain here by speaking up against the tyranny of yen... i'm just a person that loved and followed pool since i was small..it was all beautiful until this monster showed up on the scene...
i'd rather wpc not held in manila than for yen to put pool palyers there in subjection to his corrupt ways...
many "honest and pure" pool players(meaning its just all about for the love of the game) feel the same way i do that is why they are boycotting yens' stuff... and if you cannot see his corrupt ways--then something is really wrong here...
there is so much truth in this famous qoute:
"give me liberty or give me death"
